A Porter Returns!

Jayce's younger brother, Scott, came home from his mission last Thursday from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil! We gathered at the airport for his arrival with Jayce's Aunt and Uncle. Saturday morning we all drove to Colorado where there was an open house for Scott in Jayce's home stake. Sunday he gave his homecoming talk in church and then we drove back to Provo! It was a fun weekend, even if it was a little crazy. Not only did I get to meet the wonderful people of Monument, Colorado that Jayce grew up with, but I got to meet my brother-in-law for the first time!! Crazy, huh? We had some of Scott's and Jayce's old friends over Friday night for pizza and games to celebrate. After Scott's release and homecoming talk. He did a wonderful job with his talk, everyone was extremely touched by his testimony of faith in Christ. I tell you what, the Porter family never ceases to inspire. On a side note...Jayce and I just reached our 9 month anniversary! I came home to find this on...

I was sooo excited to get so many good books this year for Christmas. I thought I would have to wait until a break from school, but I haven't been able to help it. I'm on to my second book even though the semester is under way. I used to read the Harry Potter series just about every summer as a tradition, but although those books will always hold a dear place in my heart, I've decided to broaden my horizons. :-) I read The Lost Symbol first-thanks Kimber and Fabs! The only other Dan Brown book that I've read was Angels and Demons, but I got way into it so I put this on my Christmas wish list this year. It's SO GOOD! It gets so intense! On...

Christmas Time!

For me the festivities began with the December performance of my ballet girls. The ballet department at Center Stage put together a show with excerpts from "The Nutcracker" and my ballet 5's were "Tea/Chinese" and my 6's were "Hot Chocolate/Spanish" from the Land of the Sweets. They did great! The Saturday morning after finals Jayce and I had our own little Christmas celebration together before all of our family get-together's. Wrapping paper was sparse, so we did what we could! Note the phone book pages and package with three different kinds of wrapping paper on it (none having to do with Christmas). We woke up and had chocolate chip waffles (dieting starts after new years, right?) and then opened presents together. Here's part of the loot: Between each other, sibblings, and both sets of parents Jayce and I got everything we asked for and more. A hiking backpack from Jayce's parents, movies, TimTam's, books, Jayce got three pairs o...
