TTFN Colorado Friends

So, we're moving. Jayce has finished his first two years of medical school and the next two years will be his rotations. He will rotate with different doctors each month to be exposed to different types of medicine like surgery, psychiatry, obgyn, pediatrics, etc. We were able to work things out so that he could do his rotations in Utah, so we will be living in Santaquin, UT for the next two years until he graduates! We are truly so sad to leave Colorado. We have loved our last two years here. There are so many great family friendly things to do in the Parker area, we have made great friends, we loved being so close to RVU, and we love love love our ward here. I know that Utah holds good things for us, but we give Colorado a big lingering bear hug as we leave. We have been packing in as much as possible before leaving, especially with the med school wives and their kids. Most of them left a at the end of June for their various rotation locations, but a few of us are lingering a...

Med Wives Run

Image
A few months before moving to Colorado Jayce's classmates were all introducing themselves on their Facebook class group. One guy said that he had a wife and a 3 month old and that his wife was excited to meet other wives and get into the social scene once they moved. Of course Jayce and I pounced and Jayce commented on his post and said that he had a wife and a little boy too and that his wife would love to meet his. So, Steve sent Jayce Maria's email and we emailed back and forth a bit before we even met here in Colorado. And thus my friendship with Maria Long began! :-) One thing that we emailed about was running. My goal is to do some sort of run after each kid, and I needed a buddy to do it with so that I would stay motivated. We ended up getting a small group of people interested in putting on our own 5k and half marathon. No entrance fees, low key...it was great! We tie-dyed shirts a few nights before the run. Some people couldn't make it last minute, so we only ...

Parade of Homes

So, Parade of Homes is FREE out here in Colorado. I was so excited. Some of the ladies decided to hit it up with me a few weeks ago. We were quite the site walking through this block of houses! Everyone commented on the babies. Between all the babies and my BYU shirt, one of the Parade of Homes workers made a well educated guess and asked, "So, what ward are you guys from?" Haha. In case you didn't know, this is the new "in" thing to do in your house: An outdoor sitting area in the middle/front of the house. It was pretty sweet, I love that you can have so much privacy. They were all beautiful too, every home we went in had one in some shape or form. My biggest problems would be the maintenance of it (snow, rain) and for the ones that were in the front of the house you would have to install a doorbell because otherwise people would be knocking all day and you would never know it. That part made it a little too isolated for me actually. This outdo...

Stroller Gang

Here is another little piece of my life. We decided that it would be fun to meet at the park and take a stroll down Mainstreet in Parker the other day. No it is not "Main Street," yes it really  is "Mainstreet." So weird after Utah, right? It was really cute and fun...and we kind of took over Mainstreet. And the cupcake shop. My favorite moment--"Mommy, I'm all done with my scooter, can you take it?" Janelle: "Ohmygosh, yes. That's why I brought it, because I was hoping I could carry it for you!"
