I solemnly swear I will miss Harry Potter

Image
My name is Sarah Porter and I am a Harry Potter fanatic. The Harry Potter 7.2 movie opening has come and gone, but I just couldn't pass up a blog post dedicated to my favorite fictional character. I was one of the many that got hooked on the Harry Potter books when they were just blossoming. I think I read HP and the Sorcerer's Stone in 5th grade and then I just downed them one after the other. Literally. A Harry Potter book release was a big deal in my life. I remember dragging even my dad to a midnight release at Border's for the Goblet of Fire. Thanks Dad. :-) After I got the new book I took it EVERYWHERE with me. I stayed up for hours in bed continually saying, "oh...just one more chapter!" and I even read in the car--something I nevvveerrrr do because I get carsick. They were that good. Before the last book-The Deathly Hallows-came out my friend and I may or may not have re-read the whole series (not uncharacteristic of me before a new book) and taken notes...

Tummy Time

Image
Our pediatrician told us that it is time to let Cameron hit the gym. So, we have pulled out the big guns: tummy time. Jayce actually used tummy time in his Sunday School lesson a couple of weeks ago thanks to the suggestion of our brother-in-law, Fabs. It was a great analogy between how it's so hard for us as parents to watch Cameron do tummy time when he gets so irritated and fussy, but we let him do it because we know that it's the only way he can develop correctly and grow stronger. Likewise it must be hard for God to watch his children go through trials here on earth, but He lovingly watches over us and cheers us on because he knows that trials are what will make us stronger. Here's wishing you all well with your own personal tummy times! We hope you too will soon be able to roll over. :-) Love, The Porters

Porter Month

Image
Porter Month is underway ladies and gentlemen! Jayce's parents and youngest brother, David, got home from their three year mission in Auckland, New Zealand on June 30! One home coming, one rodeo, one trip to the cabin, two reunions, and many sleep overs in Draper later we are able to finally archive the events of the last couple of weeks. #1: The arrival Salt Lake City Airport was overrun by Porter/Elkins relatives alike. We caused quite a spectacle in the terminal. Kimber awarded them with gold medals after they crossed the finish line. Grammy's first time meeting little Jayden. Mom and Dad Porter were gone for four grandchild births, two of which they weren't able to meet until they came home. It's been fun to see them around their grandchildren the last couple of weeks. Their first time setting foot into their new home! Have you ever imagined yourself walking into a home that has all of your belongings in it that you've only ever seen pictures of? That's the ...
