Rachel :-)

So, I had a conversation with my aunt on a day when I was feeling really crummy pregnancy wise. She expressed her worry and pity for me to my sister Rachel, and the next thing I know I have all these packages arriving of all sizes and weights over the next couple of weeks. I was the most equipped "morning sick" woman around, I'm sure! Enhanced waters, munchies, preggie pop drops (delicious), motion sickness wrist bands, vitamins, an inhaler thing with all natural nausea oils in it, and the list goes on. It was so sweet and so Rachel. Ask anyone in my family who the "world saver" is and we'll point you in her direction. Love you Rachel!!

Elizabeth Smart's Book

So, I didn't really know what I was going to think of this book. I knew the basics about Elizabeth Smart's story and I thought it would probably creep me out but I was also really intrigued by the thought of hearing her own voice tell it.  I'm really glad I read her book. I made the mistake of starting it while Jayce was out of town, so I won't lie, after reading the first couple of chapters I had a really rough night's sleep. That first bit where she describes exactly how she was abducted in the middle of the night from her "safe" house with all of her family sleeping in the rooms around her was a little hard to stomach, but the story that unfolds just needs to be heard even if it's hard to hear. Anyways, after that I decided it was mainly a day-time read...

I Just Love Conference.

General Conference weekend is like a holiday weekend to me. It's a weekend in with the family when you can snuggle up and listen to words that fill you. The emotional and spiritual filling often leaves you feeling even physically uplifted. True, it's harder to get as much out of it with three kids in the house than it used to be, but knowing that I can catch up on what I missed and re-listen to what I loved afterwards on lds.org is comforting knowledge. Especially when someone is speaking that you know you always love to hear from and "Mommyyyy!!! I need help wiping!!!" rings out from the bathroom. This year most people watched with added anticipation because we knew three new apostles were going to be called. It was nice to hear from them and I look forward to learning more about them. Elder Perry, Elder Scott, and President Packer are missed though. Now, Elder Holland's talk. "Behold Thy Mother."  I really like to think that I don't have fa...
