What's new with the Porter's?
1.) Jayce and I got to go to Salt Lake last night to meet my great aunt and her family for dinner in the Lion House. She is such a sweet woman. She rented out a room upstairs and picked out a great dinner. I love Lion House rolls. Then we all played a few Christmas games. There was one where we passed brown paper bags along while Aunt Beverly read the story of the 12 Days of Christmas and every time that she said "a" we had to pass our bag to the left. Jayce ended up with the jackpot bag with a $5 bill in it. I got 4 quarters- laundry money!!
The whole gang. So, Jayce and I are standing next to my great aunt Beverly and her husband Chick (yes, Chick). The other adults are my Dad's cousins and their children. We are kind of the odd balls but that's okay!
2.) Jayce is coaching a basketball team of 7th graders with our brother-in-law, Josh, again through the Jr. Jazz basketball league. Sadly they haven't won a game yet, but they shall prevail! Last year Jayce and Josh had an undefeated team, so this year will be a good coaching challenge.
3.) Jayce is also getting ready to start volunteering at the hospital in the oncology unit next semester, so he keeps having to go get shots to clear him for H1N1, TB, etc. The first TB shot left him a particularly sore spot on the derriere, but he's really excited about the volunteer work.
4.) I auditioned for a modern dance faculty show last month at BYU and now I get to be in this awesome three part piece. I get to be in two of the three parts and each part is based on a work of art. The first movement is about the artwork of Cassandra Barney (who might be painting a picture of me and the other two girls in her section!!). She came to rehearsal a couple of weeks ago to take some pictures:

This is Susan- she's the awesome choreographer. I like her a lot.
5.) I auditioned for BYU's DancEnsemble company as well, so I'll be keeping myself busy with that next semester as well. I'm very excited for these performing opportunities! Performing is one of the best things in the world. I can't wait. BYU rocks!
6.) Last but not least, Jayce and I would like to extend this year's Christmas card to anyone wishing to see a special presentation: http://elfyourself.jibjab.com/view/fjjqeBI1OIhoe8ZqGH5G We had a lot of fun making that yesterday as a break from studying for exams. :-)
Over and out!
