Well ladies and gentlemen, it's true. Jayce and I have reached our one year mark of marriage! Here's a tour of our weekend:

Friday night we went out to dinner at Tucanos because that's one of our favorites and because we went there on our honeymoon too. It was quite yum as always. I love that grilled pineapple.
After dinner Jayce whisked me away to the cabin. Little did we know we would have to conquer a huge snow drift to get to the front door.

Since we were up at the cabin, our might muscles were enlisted to bring some of our sibling's storage back down to Provo. So, we decided to load the car as soon as we got there before tucking in for a relaxing night. We were laughing at ourselves at first, lugging big suit cases and duffel bags across the snow, over the snow bank, and into the car, but then the unthinkable happened. Jayce
lost his
wedding ring. In know, great omen on the celebration of the first anniversary, right? Luckily our love isn't tied to our rings. :-) We searched and searched, but it just wasn't going to happen in the snow. Jayce's fingers were cold enough that his fingers shrunk and the ring just slipped off. Gone forever? I think not! We plan on going up in a few weeks with a metal detector and
we will bring that puppy back! (P.S. Anyone have a metal detector we can borrow perchance?)

Fear not! We still had a nice anniversary evening up at the cabin. We watched a movie, ate a piece of cake we ordered to go from Tucano's, and watched a slide show I made of our first year together. All experiences just add to the memory box of life anyways, right?

Saturday morning we woke up early in the morning so that we could make it in time to do sealings in the Salt Lake Temple. It was heart warming, I'm so glad that we went, even though it was early. It was also fun to see other couples waiting to get married in the temple and to think that we were doing the exact same thing just last year on the Saturday after finals. I can't believe it has been a year!

Well, it's not your first anniversary unless you eat your wedding cake, right? Sunday (our true anniversary, April 25th) we busted out the top layer of our cake which has been sitting in our freezer for a year wrapped in tin foil. Word from the wise-this is a
silly tradition! The cake did
not taste very good anymore. If you're going to freeze your cake either stop where you are and eat it while it's still delectable or find out what the secret to storing it is because it was quite the bummer! Luckily I made pudding pie just in case. :-)

Bye, bye yucky cake!

We also opened our presents from each other on Sunday. Jayce got me a copy of a picture of Christ that I have been admiring ever since it came out! I'm soooo excited! It was the first picture that we put up in our new apartment. (By the way..we moved! Kind of spur of the moment, but we are in and we are loving it! More to come on that later...)

I framed our big wedding picture as Jayce's present. It's been sitting behind some of our boxes, wrapped up for a year. I thought it was time to be able to hang it. We love it!
Thank you everyone for our happy anniversary cards, texts, messages, and gifts! Jessica and Scott even brought us a little bottle of sand from Cathedral Cove in New Zealand, where we got engaged. We love you all so much!
our cake was delicious actually on our one year. the only bad stuff was the frosting so we scraped it off and enjoyed the delicious treasure inside
