Some Randoms

So, I'm basically using the blog as my journal at this point, thus my need to post just about everything. I don't want things left out when I print this sucker off! Here we have some Porter updates I didn't want to be left out of documentation:

Mom and Dad sent us a start-up package for the baby and we were so excited!! THANK YOU!

Center Stage's ballet department put on Peter Pan last month. It was quite the ordeal, but it all came together and it looked great. My classes loved performing on stage. Performances really are the best. Below we have my fireflies (don't be offended Virginians, I know they don't look like real fireflies but the red costumes and lights were beautiful on stage!) and my little pirates, quite the entertainment.

My old roommates still love to do fun things. They already have an annual Pumpkin Party around Halloween time and this year they decided to do a ShamROCK party in honor of St. Patrick's Day. Green and gold galore! It was such a fun idea, we had a ton of fun.

Yes, I did make Felix Felicis or "Liquid Luck" from Harry Potter as the punch.

It's fun to be with friends. Thanks Bryce and Sarah, we thoroughly enjoyed your participation.

This is Jayce on his last day of work at the MTC. That's right, after three years of teaching missionaries how to preach the Gospel before heading out on their missions, Jayce has retired from the MTC. He has loved the MTC, but is also ready for something else. It's hard to start over with your lessons every two weeks and not feel like you're in the movie Ground Hog's Day every once in a while. Now he just has to focus on school and the MCAT for the next little while, such a blessing!

After those last days of trying my hardest to push away the heightening anticipation of Spencer's arrival, he finally arrived two weeks ago today! Now those days seem so far away. It's amazing how quickly the tables turn. Welcome to the World Aiden Titus

Something big arrived in the Porter Family early in the morning on September 29! He's big, he's blonde, and he has kisses all over his chunky cheeks...welcome to the world Aiden Titus Porter!  He was my second largest baby weighing in at 8 lb 10 oz, his abundance of blonde hair is reminiscent of Cameron, he's the 17th grandchild on the Porter side and the 14th on the Terry side and he came into the world fast and furious like his next-older brother, Spencer. He also completes the Porter basketball team. Summer Olympics 2032, here we come! Mom's Gone

My Mom died in the early hours of June 29 of complications from pneumonia. She was one month shy of her 67 th birthday. I’ll be processing everything from the morning of her death to the day she was buried for a long time. I’m so grateful that I was able to talk to my mom just two days before she passed. I had sat down at my computer after rocking Spencer to sleep and it was quiet time in the Porter house. My mind went blank as soon as I sat down and I relaxed, which is abnormal because I usually feel torn between doing ten things at once when I sit down to “get stuff done” during quiet time. So I thought, “Well, what should I do? It’s been a while since I talked to Mom...” When I asked her how she was she answered, “Well, actually not so good,” and she explained that she had just come home from the doctor’s office where she found out that she had pneumonia.   She filled me in on some details from her appointment and how she had been feeling recently.
