My Morning Walk

In an effort to stay in shape I've have taken up walking in the mornings. I just can't bring myself to run yet...maybe in the spring. ;-) Today I set out and upon walking out the garage I immediately turned around because I decided that it was a must that I bring the camera today. There were big ominous grey clouds coming in and the air just smelled fresh and fierce at the same time. That sounds weird, but I can't describe it much better than that. It pumped me up for my walk. Here's my mighty man that I take along to scare away strangers:

Arrrgh!!

Here is the initial view upon walking out the front door:

Here is a look out point once you get to the end of our street where you can look out and see the Utah County side of the mountain. The rainclouds had blown in from the Provo area, which you can tell is starting to get blue skies. Notice the trees on the mountain too. I love fall!

Standing around the same spot where I took the previous two photos, I took this on the way home at the end of my walk. Is getting up early to go walking worth it?! Heck baby yeah!

Soaking in how beautiful the sky was I looked straight up at what was going on right above me and thought, "Why do I always just think to look out when I could be looking up?"
I would have missed this awesome cloud that was all chunked up to look like big fluffs of cotton balls. Isn't that so awesome? I don't mean "awesome" as in a skater sort of, "Dude that was awesooommme," I mean it in the sense of "Isn't this awe-inspiring? Doesn't this massive cloud moving some big amount of feet over your head just want to make you knock on everyone's doors like a crazy person so that they can all look at it?!" I rather enjoyed it.

By the end of the walk Cameron was fast asleep. He was snug as a bug under two blankets and with my sweatshirt around his head to be double sure that no rain would get on him under there.

Just wanted to share a couple of other views from up here that Mom Porter took. They were all taken right from their deck and they look out over Salt Lake County.
One of the really cool things is that from up here you can see what's happening all over the place. The sun was setting beautifully in the west and to the north east there was a thunder storm taking place out over Salt Lake City. The picture right above this comment and the picture right below were taken within minutes of each other. Notice the big lightning bolt below. Perfect timing, right?

I love this picture because I love looking out over the lights at night time from up here. With the sky as beautiful as it is and the lights as beautiful as they are, it's like you can see where God and man meet. The Lord made the world the way it is with all of its diversity and beauty for our own enjoyment and He lets us take part in that creative ability. To me this picture shows God as the master of the sky and man as the artist of the lights. How complete and complimentary they are together.
