A Good Day for a Walk

Image
Well, it's true Cameron woke up on July 26th and decided that it was a good day for a walk!

Liking Colorado

Image
CO has been good to us. We really love our area, our quirky Russian neighbors, the new friends that we have made in our ward and through med school orientation week, our little apartment, etc. Cameron especially loves roaming around and it's easier to let him do his thing because I don't have to worry about stairs. He was so cute the first week or so, going in and out of all the rooms. His room is so big too! It looks funny with just his crib and dresser in there. He has also developed an attachment to this wooden duck toy that my mom gave him: What happened to the stage of fluffy, comfy, snuggly toy attachments? Haha. It's pretty cute thought and my mom loves it of course. :-) He does have to get used to not having Jayce around as much though, and he's such a Daddy's boy. When Jayce left for orientation he did this a couple of times during the day: Poor little boy!! But it made Jayce feel pretty good. :-) We have also had some Sunday dinners...

CO Theatre Shooting

Image
People kept asking after the CO movie theatre shooting if we were close to Aurora. Well, the morning after we were on our way to Sears to look at washer/dryers and found the whole mall to be closed because was the one right next to the theatre: All the news crews: So yes, we are close to Aurora. Girls from my sister-in-law's ward were there and one was shot in the chin (but is alive), we went to a garage sale on the Saturday after, and drove right passed his booby trapped apartment...it was a little too close to home. What this man did kind of haunted me for the first week and a half or so. I'd imagine myself there over and over again with Jayce and Cameron. Ah. I can't even imagine if his other plans at his apartment and UC-Denver would have worked. I guess I just can't comprehend what could possibly happen in a person's life to lead them to this kind of an action. I do feel sympathy for him. If he just knew how much he was worth and the price t...

Riding Off into the Sunrise

Image
Well, it has almost been two weeks since we left Utah. We loaded up everything we had (minus a few boxes that wouldn't fit..!) onto a flatbed trailer and pulled out bright and early on a Wednesday morning. It was so early that Cameron couldn't stop yawning when we went in to wake the little boy up: Here we are, literally crammed inside of the car, I don't know how Cameron even managed to fit in there! We thought that he would fall asleep as soon as we got going, but nope! He was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and didn't really fall asleep until sometime around 11:30 probably..unheard of! Luckily he was being really good. He just kind of verged out in his carseat, not really complaining, eating when we fed him, and giving an occasional laugh and smile. And the sun literally rose up on our new future in Parker, CO. :-) I don't understand why everyone always says that people "rode off into the sunset." Wouldn't it be nicer to ri...

Utah To-Do List: Once More at the Cabin

Image
I love the cabin. I really do. We went on more hiking adventures this time and we pretty much ended up falling in love with it all over again. We spent a little over 3 relaxing days up there before all hades broke loose with all the packing and what not for CO. It was so nice to have a chance to say goodbye to the mountains. The places that we've lived in Utah aren't extremely unique for having mountains, but they are pretty unique in how close they were built to the mountains. At least that's what I've noticed in my travels. I LOVE that the mountains are so close in Utah. I'll miss it! Enjoy the bajillion photos I have from our trip:
