Heading to Utah for Christmas

Image
I decided to go to Utah a week earlier than Jayce so that I could see my dad while he was out there. We went to my good home-town friend's wedding. Bobby and I met in high school and he ended up getting baptized in the LDS church after his first year of college. He then went on a mission a year after his baptism and when he came home from two years in the Dominican Republic he transferred to BYU, where he met Sheridan. They had a beautiful temple ceremony and a very sweet ring ceremony/luncheon later that afternoon. They were glowing. :-) I love weddings! Dad and I were also able to meet up with my Great Aunt Beverly for breakfast while we were there too. I love Aunt Bev! She's one of the cutest old women you will ever meet. She's still fiery, active, and loving life. I always love visiting with her. Her vibrant personality makes me feel like I'm talking to any   young friend of mine. I knew our best bet with Cameron would be to do something earlier in the ...

Pre-Christmas in Colorado

Image
Before I left for Utah, I wanted to have a small family Christmas with Jayce and Cameron. The Sunday before I left we had waffles, sausage, and bacon for breakfast and opened presents after church. We used Cameron's felt tree for a tree and had to improvise for some festive lighting, but it was Christmas still the same. :-)  Cameron lucked out with his gifts thanks to Craig's List too. Love that site.

Parker Equestrian Parade

Image
A lot of people in this area are really into horses. So much so that every year Parker has an equestrian parade around Christmas time with tons of horses, carriages, ponies, and mini ponies. Here is the gist: And even a free petting zoo after the parade! We are looking at the biggest bunny I have ever seen huddled in the back corner. Wish I got a picture of it! Walking back to the cars was enough time to make them realize how tired they were. Lights OUT.

Random From December

So, the other day I get a message from Ambrey saying that Red Robin is giving free burgers to people who live on a street with James in the name of it and it turned out that they would even accept our address of East Jamison Drive. Score! Jayce and I went and picked up a toddler bed that we bought on Craig's List and polished the evening off with two free burgers, an order of fries, and a milkshake. All for $10 (that's including tip). It was oh so good. Not to mention that Cameron behaved wonderfully in Red Robin. Yay good deals! Here is Cambajamba's new toddler bed: He loves it! We didn't think that we would have him sleep in it for a while, but he was spending so much time on it the first couple of days we had it that we figured we might as well just give it a try. He's slept on it for the last four nights now and done great! He hasn't gotten out of bed once. We will see how long the magic lasts! Cameron has a new game that he likes to play wi...
