Updates
The blog has gotten away from me with the usual odds and ends of life and the projects I'm trying to get done before the babies come. Sooo...here is a brief update!
1. I had a rash start spreading around my face back in November and thought I was just breaking out, but it slowly started progressing until January when it went crazy. It's not "the mask of pregnancy" but I can't remember what the dermatologist called it...oops! It was some two worded name and both words were hoity toity scientific names. The dermatologist gave me a few options, 2 oral pills or a topical cream. I chose the cream. Ahhh!! It was suupppeerrr acidic and burned like crazy and after a few weeks just wasn't doing the job. Then I tried a couple of essential oils from some friends in the ward for about a week and that wasn't really going anywhere and just within the last few days I started using Aquaphor. It's almost entirely gone!! Hallelujah! Man I'm glad for that. I had it in my medicine cabinet the whole time too. I went to take my prenatal pill and saw "rashes" on the bottle and thought, "Why not at this point?!" Go figure!
I look like Quasimoto, but hey we're just keepin' it real on the Porter Post!

2. Cam got Bronchitis and was on the couch with a cough and fever for about 5 days a couple of weeks ago. :-( We took him to the doctor and his oxygen level in his blood was low, but not overly troubling so they had us come in for a follow up the next morning. Luckily his oxygen read was normal and he was acting a lot better too. He did have the start of an ear infection though and they were worried that the bronchitis would develop into full on pneumonia because he had some fluid in his lungs, so the doctor ended up prescribing amoxicillin to be on the safe side. Here's how he came to cope with it twice a day:

baby ultra sounds
4. I was reading one of Cameron's favorite Spot books to him and he was making all of the animal sounds. We got to the hippo and I said, "And a hippo says...." Couldn't really think of anything for that so I made a funny face since I was stumped. Cameron took that to mean that's what hippos do and immediately imitated it. Sooo...we have decided that this is what hippos do.
Speaking of reading, these are Cam's favorite at the moment:
5. Jayce and I won "Best Foxtrot" at our ward's 50's dance. Wahoo! We were a little apprehensive about going, but loved it! We learned a few dances, made pipe cleaner glasses for each other, ate root beer floats and cotton candy, and took fun pictures with an Elvis wig. It was a fun date night. It felt like a high school sock hop dance especially when Bishop came up to us and said, "Man what are we doing here? Getting your girlfriend knocked up in high school??!"
6. Cam-ish things.
Cameron likes to go through Dad's dresser drawer and find his head lamp. Then he comes and finds me and holds it up for me so that I can put it on him. As soon as I get it on and light it up he gets a huge grin on his face.
He has recently gotten into baking with us:
And loves Daddy time :-)
7. Jayce participated in the Young Women/Young Men talent show with the Priests (16/17 year olds). They were assigned Justin Bieber's "Baby" to dance to and they came up with this 20 minutes before the talent show started. It turned out pretty well all things considered and they even convinced Brother Maughn, a member of our bishopric to be Ludacris. (Jayce is the one without anything on his head and with a white tag looking thing hooked to his belt loop)
They also ended up winning an award, so they received inflatable microphones and star glasses. Cameron took to both immediately. :-)
That's all folks!
