Hospital Time with the Twins

I was so fortunate to deliver at Sky Ride and have a really great hospital experience. The nurses were wonderful, and nurses can make or break a hospital experience, so I felt lucky. They adored Jackson and Benson. Two sweet nurses even came down to my room one evening to ask if they could take the twins for a little while just to hold them at the nurse desk because they thought they were so darling. They gave me a glimpse into how much they really love their jobs in the mom and baby unit. They took the boys and I walked up and down the hall for a while. They encouraged me to walk to help with the healing process. It was fun to watch the nurses soak in my fresh babies from a distance and show them off to the few people that passed by their desk. They couldn't believe how healthy they were and repeatedly told me that I had given birth to superstars.

Another HUGE blessing was the help that I received from the ward. Jayce spent the first night with me, but wasn't able to spend the 2nd or 3rd night with me because he needed to rest for his test and stay at home with Cameron. Nicole Terry came and spent the night the second night and Natalie Woodward came and spent the night the last night in the hospital. Talk about service! I couldn't believe they were so willing to come help and loose so much sleep when they had their own families to take care of the next day. It was truly a huge blessing though, especially the second night. I was still hooked up to a lot of stuff at that point and needed the help changing diapers and rocking them back to sleep. Nicole was a champion. Natalie was really nice to talk to the next night too because she had a lot of advice to offer. She is the mother of 9-year-old twin boys.
