A Quarter of a Century

I had a great 25th birthday. Quality family time, expressions of love from family and friends, new things, and the great outdoors. It couldn't have been better.

This little guy snuggled and munched on my toast with me for breakfast in bed.

My sister-in-law came down at 6:00 a.m. to decorate my car! Made my day!

Glenna and Blair played with Cameron during J & B's naps so that Jayce and I could go on a run together and explore some of the trails behind our house.

We all got to go to a fun park in our neighborhood. It's pretty rare that Jayce gets to do parks with us, so I like to soak it up.

Then we headed to The Red Barn for ice cream and my new favorite, a Root Beer freeze. SO GOOD!!

My awesome in-laws came down in the evening to watch the boys while Jayce and I went on a date. I wanted to try something in the area so that we could fully enjoy the small town life so we ended up at a place in Payson called Bourdeax's Bistro. New Orleans cuisine, serving all sorts of things like fried cat fish, fried alligator, red beans and rice, gumbo, etc. We played it safe this time around, but we vowed to return one more time before we leave the area so that we could be more adventurous!
After dinner we went on a drive through one of the canyon loops. It was beautiful and we got to just talk and enjoy. We also kept running into wildlife.
Thank you small towns. :-)

It was such a good birthday. It made me so grateful for so many people in my life. In President Monson's talk, "Becoming Our Best Selves", he quotes James Barrie saying, "God gave us memories, that we might have June roses in the December of our lives." I've loved that quote for a long time. Thank you Heavenly Father for giving me some more June roses.

  1. Hope you had a wonderful birthday! It looks like y'all are enjoying my high school stomping grounds. :) There isn't much to do around there--but Payson Lakes are beautiful. There's also a great little hike your kids could do called The Grotto. Nice and short and a beautiful little waterfall at the end. There's a pretty quaint little restaurant called Dalton's in Payson, and the pizza place next door is pretty good too. We used to go get cheese sticks for lunch all the time. So yummy. Excited to see you soon at Lydia's wedding!!
