Thank you Peds

Thank you to Jayce's pediatric rotation for having great hours. Dr. Nochel works three days a week, which has made this the most fun rotation for me and the kids. Jayce still studies on the off days, but at least he's home and when he takes breaks he just comes upstairs for a bit to hang out with us. A bonus is that I've been able to use nap time to run errands or to go for some runs. Either way it gets me out of the house, which is something I gotta make sure I do enough in the winter or else I turn into a hermit.

Needless to say, the kids have loved the extra time with Dad too. They like baking, reading, and dancing around in the kitchen with Mommy, but when it comes to just straight up running around and being thrown around, Daddy takes the cake.

Right now their favorite game is "Batman". It has absolutely nothing to do with the superhero, so I'm not sure how that came to be, but they all love it. Jayce throws a big brown blanket over him and walks around kind of like a zombie while moaning like a ghost. The kids run from room to room and try to hide from him and they would do it all day every day if Jayce had the stamina. :-)

These kids are ravenous these days, so it was nice to have Jayce to divide and conquer in getting some meals/snacks out. I try to stock up when pomegranates go on sale because as you can see they can hardly wait for us to de-seed before they dig in.

Jayce and I have taken to juggling ever since we started buying clementines. Today Jayce did several rounds in a row with three clementines and decided to sit the kids down for a Daddy show to see if he could do it again.

A really great one was one night at bath time. One of them who will remain nameless (Benson...AGAIN) pooped in the tub. Gross, right?! But I just can't help cracking up when I remember it. Cameron yells, "Poo Poooo!!!" and then all of the boys freeze and stare at it for a second when Jayce yells, "Ahhhh!!! Nobody touch the poo poo!!! Ahhhh!!!!! It's contaminated!!" The boys start yelling and screaming random things as they try to cower in the corner of the tub away from the contamination area while Jayce and I are shaking with laughter trying to take care of the tub situation. Just a parent moment. You need those sometimes.

Now Jayce Face is all done with peds and on to his second family medicine rotation. The doctor he'll be with next is supposed to be pretty busy because he takes on obstetric patients too. Can't complain much having just come out of only working 3 days a week though, right?
