Jayce had a long weekend off a couple of weeks ago, so we took advantage and splurged on the Provo Rec Center. That place is rockin'! Unfortunately the kids aren't super into being splashed right now, so they didn't love the kid play area (which is awesome--hopefully one day they'll appreciate it) but they did have fun in the shallow water playing with toys and going around in the lazy river with us. Cameron got really good about only holding onto us with one hand. Open water still makes him really nervous, but he'll get there eventually.
I'm pretty set on having one of these in our basement someday. What do you think it is, like $50? ;-)
Jack's best friend of the day:
Just because it's cute:
We were able to see all of our med school friends at Princess Lilly's bday party.
They don't always have long attention spans with their toys, but when they do it's amazing and adorable.
Cameron spent a few hours (part of which were at Wal Mart) wearing my boots. Luckily I think they were hard enough to walk in that he hasn't asked to wear them out again...
My friend has a year pass to the aquarium and she invited us to come along since she could get us in for free. I was super grateful for her offer because Cameron is super loving sharks and whales right now thanks to Octonauts. I was really excited to take him because he was so excited about it and that made Jack and Ben excited too. The first thing Cameron did when we walked in was look up at the ceiling and say, "Mom look!! A whale shark!!" and then Jack and Ben followed suit with, "whay shark! whay shark!"
I was also extremely proud of Cameron for doing the rope bridge. Big deal for this cute boy.
I decided I'm going to plant one of these in our future house.
And because a week in the Porter family wouldn't be complete without someone being sick, Cameron threw up all weekend! Yayyyyyy. He threw up on the way to the aquarium, but car sickness isn't totally new to Cameron and he seemed to be doing okay when we arrived so we went ahead and enjoyed the aquarium. When we got back to the car I gave all the kids some applesauce to tie them over until lunch and then within ten minutes that came up and I knew we had a problem. He was looking pretty bad in the car, but as soon as we got to Grammy and Grampy's he started jumping on the trampoline and running around. I was confused. Then slowly but surely it caught up with him and he was couch ridden and unable to keep anything down for 2.5 days. Poor boy, he was totally wasted.
Just one more sentence on the subject, "I'm so sick of sickness!!!" Can I get an amen from any other moms out there right now?? I'm also terribly sorry to any children that got infected at the aquarium. #momfail Okay, so I had more than one thing to say.
Luckily Jack and Ben had a grand old time in Draper! And we are also so grateful that nobody else got sick.
Grampy put them to work!
We also figured out that all Jack probably wants for his birthday is an adult sized rake. He did this for around 20-30 minutes. I'm thinking a lawn care business would be a great summer job in his teens!
We binged on puppy chow TWICE this month! Oh my goodness that stuff is definitely as close to crack as I think I'll ever get. As soon as one piece hits my tongue I'm instantly reaching for the next fistful. I'm never making it again. Maybe for Father's Day.
