Jack & Ben's Birthdays
We have two brand-spankin' new to 2 toddlers in our house! These boys keep us on our toes. They are both energetic, sweet, goofy, messy little boys. I almost have to remind myself that they are twins though because they are also so different.
Benson Jeremy.
The acrostic poem we made for him this year said:
Body wrestler
Eating machine
Nose stuck in a book
He loves wrestling with his brothers. I would actually say he loves it most when he's doing it to pester his brothers. He knows how to push their buttons and he toes that line with the sweetest little mischievous smile you can imagine.
He's also got this stubborn side which can be very not-so-funny in the moment, but it's something that Jayce and I can't help but laugh at later. Where does this come from?! Let's be honest, probably from me. Furrowed brows never looked so cute though.
He is most definitely an eating machine. You know that scene in Cast Away when Tom Hanks FINALLY builds a fire and he beats his chest and says, "Look what I have created!! I have made FIRE!" After some meals I want to stand on the table and beat my chest and say, "Look what I have created!! I have made this child!"
Just like this:
Then Jack spits out the food I was so happy he even put in his mouth and I'm put in my place. ;-)
He also still loves reading and I still love walking into the toy room to see him on the floor with several books around him, just turning pages and looking at the pictures.
Sometimes after Jack hurts himself Ben walks up and leans his head closer to look in Jack's eyes and says, "You okay? You okay?" and my heart smiles.
Jackson Donald.
Jack's acrostic read:
Jolly
unless he is being...
Angry Jack!
Cuddly
Keeper of the Grounds
We have used the nickname of Jolly Jack on and off since he was baby because he has always had a really smiley, outgoing side. Now in his toddler years though he has learned how to fine tune his Angry Jack side. We lovingly refer to him as our divo.
Jolly Jack: "More nana (banana) Mommy?!"
Me: "Uh-huh, you can have more after you finish the piece in your hand."
ANGRY JACK: Squints eyes, mouth opens for the wailing that's about to commence, he face plants onto the floor and goes stiff as a board while he screams.
Jolly Jack and Angry Jack. :)
Sometimes he can be so snuggly. Every once in a while if he wakes up first he'll snuggle on the couch or in bed with me for several minutes. Then he'll whip his head up and look at me with that mischievous grin of his and the day has begun. Last week he even snuggled on the couch with Cameron for a few darling minutes.
He is the keeper of the grounds! He has been loving helping out around the house lately. The vacuuming, the raking, the sweeping, the bathroom cleaning, etc. We get a kick out of it every time.
He also loves watching our neighbor's dog through the window. He'll come grab me from somewhere in the house and walk me over to the kitchen window and say, "Wan see Daisy!" so I can lift him high enough to see over the fence. He'd have me hold him there all day I think if I let him.
