Waiting for Spencer
You know how on Instagram and Facebook you often come across someone's baby bedroom reveal? And they are darling, often themed, color coordinated, and perfectly pristine?
Like this:
Or this:
Well here's ours!
Hahaha. Spencer gets the corner of the bedroom! And a pack and play will be popping up somewhere near my side of the bed upon his arrival. No, the pack and play will not be color coordinated. See that box? That's Spencer's dresser for the time being.
I think I kind of redeemed myself with the quilt though, right? First time I've made a "legit" quilt in my eyes and I do love it. It was on my bucket list.
Joking aside though, I'm just so excited to bring him home. People keep asking me how I'm feeling, and I keep getting that "daaang girl" look walking around in public. I've lost track of how many people look at me with wide eyes and gesture with their hands for emphasis while saying something like, "It's just...it's just like a BIG BASKETBALL under there!" :-)
With how I'm feeling, I'm feeling totally fine. I mean, my belly is huge. Putting pants and shoes on is a daily feat and I get winded walking upstairs. I'm also getting kind of sick of wearing my four favorite maternity shirts whenever I go out, and it was annoying to realize yesterday that I'm even outgrowing Jayce's t-shirts. Ugh! First world pregnant lady problems.
But really, I'm healthy and so is Spencer, so I don't have any really worrisome complaints. Just feelin' big!
Those things aside, I'm just so excited to go to the hospital and deliver. I've been envisioning him for several months now and I'm so ready to hold him and have those first magical moments together with me, Spence, and Jayce right after delivery. I'm just waiting anxiously for the excitement to begin. Babies, oh babies.
In fact, I got so excited that I set up a hike to the top of the Y with one of my greatest old friends from the Rege, Ashley Harvey. It was great. For one thing, I cannot believe I made it. We were talking so much and took enough stops that I made it up just fine. Miracle! I really do get winded just walking up the stairs guys. It was also so nice to catch up with Ashley and hear about her latest adventures with her business, Lily's Lights. Love this lady!
But alas, I find myself blogging this morning instead of holding a baby! Thanks a lot Y mountain.
