The Latest and Greatest

Cameron is officially a little over 1 month old! Quite the achievement for such a little guy and with us as parents to boot. ;-) Here is an update on what's been happening in the Porter apartment: Cameron continues to light up our world. Parenting is an adjustment, a hard adjustment, but also an amazing one. We are full of love for Cameron and I'm already getting excited to meet my other children. I've heard many women say that part of the miracle of motherhood is forgetting how hard labor was so quickly and I totally get it now. Only a few hours after the delivery I felt like it had just been a bad dream. So there ya go, the answer to "why do women who go through that decide to go through it again?"--because God conveniently helps us forget how miserable it was once we have such a joyful bundle in our arms! Haha. Don't worry though, it will be a while before we work on the next one. When Cameron is eating or stressed out he puts his little fists up to his fac...

So Much Love...a much delayed post

Baby Shower #1 with some of Jayce's aunts and cousins: Chelle even remembered that I love ducks while she was decoration shopping. I think our duck wedding toppers will forever be a reminder. :-) Isn't her house adorable? P.S. That punch was divine. Yay for having cousins! My Great Aunt Beverly was even able to make it! She drove to Chelle's the day before with Chick to make sure that she'd be able to find it the next night. What a gem. Every time I talk to her I just can't help but think of how precious she is. Yay for Aunt Bev! Aunt Bev got me a BYU onsie and hat!! He'll have to grow into it, but I was excited to have our first BYU paraphernalia for the wee babe. Then I remembered whose presence I was in and quickly put it away. ;-) Baby Shower #2: Surprise! Background: This shower was supposed to be on a Friday, I had it all marked and ready to go in my planner. The Saturday before was an errand day. Jayce and I had a checklist of grocery shopping, buying a ...

More pictures, I know. Trust me there will be more posts just like this because that's just what happens when you have a little darling like this! So, if you're sick of pictures stop right now, but if not here you go! He hated sponge baths, but now that his umbilical cord has fallen off he can be submerged in water and he loved his first bath! It was really fun for Jayce and I. Sometimes in the morning we'll pull Cameron into bed with us to snuggle for a little while. He sleeps like a king on our mattress. Every few weeks we've got to change our diaper genie out. Just look at that stash. Yummy. Tummy Time!

Here I am at a whopping 41 weeks getting ready to go to the hospital: I went for 5 hours or so with intense contractions and no epidural and then I was done. Give me something for the pain! If I was going to go all through the night and into the morning I wanted to be able to sleep at least a little bit so I'd have energy to push. Once they got the epidural in I was able to get some sleep. Oh, bliss. Checked into the hospital around 8:00pm Sunday night, had this little boy around noon on Monday: Cameron Lee Porter, 8 lbs. 3 oz, welcome to the world. :-) After throwing up and getting all the bleeding under control I finally got to hold him in my arms! Cameron really likes having his hands up by his face like so: #1-Cameron had a pretty intense cone head from having his head in the birth canal for so long. Even the doctor and the nurses thought it was a rather funny head shape. #2-Check out his frosted tips! Who would have thought I'd have such a blonde baby?! My two favorite ...
