Cameron Lee Porter
Here I am at a whopping 41 weeks getting ready to go to the hospital:
I went for 5 hours or so with intense contractions and no epidural and then I was done. Give me something for the pain! If I was going to go all through the night and into the morning I wanted to be able to sleep at least a little bit so I'd have energy to push. Once they got the epidural in I was able to get some sleep. Oh, bliss.
Checked into the hospital around 8:00pm Sunday night, had this little boy around noon on Monday:
Cameron Lee Porter, 8 lbs. 3 oz, welcome to the world. :-)
After throwing up and getting all the bleeding under control I finally got to hold him in my arms!
Cameron really likes having his hands up by his face like so:
#1-Cameron had a pretty intense cone head from having his head in the birth canal for so long. Even the doctor and the nurses thought it was a rather funny head shape. #2-Check out his frosted tips! Who would have thought I'd have such a blonde baby?!
My two favorite men:
Oh thank Heaven for my sweet mom who stalked our freezer with freezer meals that we can use over the next little while as we adjust to life with a newborn!
Male bonding. My dad flew from VA to UT to have male bonding time with Cameron. He just adores his grandchildren.
Well, Cameron certainly did inherit the Porter mouth! Like father like son. :-)
Cameron's first bath! I just have to share the story. I was prepping in the bathroom while Jayce was getting Cameron undressed. As Jayce was carrying Cameron into the bathroom I hear him jokingly tell Cameron, "Okay buddy, let's pee all over mommy!" No sooner had the words left his mouth when Cameron began peeing all over daddy. :-) Jayce's shirt was soaked. It was hilarious, we about busted our guts laughing. After Jayce had thrown his shirt in the dirty clothes he held Cameron over the sink while I washed. Cameron was hating life at this point and just wailing at the top of his lungs (he's not one for bathing yet). Amidst all the stress of the event he pooped right into the palm of Jayce's hand. Oh, I love these moments!
Cameron has inherited one of my dimples!
Having Mom and Dad here for a week was a big help. WE LOVE YOU!!!
This bright young stallion is learning how to keep his binky in!
Here's a sneak peak from Cameron's first photo shoot!! Many more pictures from that to come.

Such a great post :) Lesson learned--wait until Cameron does his business before getting him ready for his bath. I hope we get to see him again soon!
