Half Moon Bay

Image
Another Terry tradition in Palo Alto is going to Half Moon Bay. We were nervous that it would be too rainy/cold to go, but it ended up being lovely. It was overcast when we got there and the sun came out while we were eating lunch. I loooooove the beach. I don't love swimming in the water, but I love playing in the sand and just being on the beach. I love the sounds, I love the sand, I love watching the water...it was great and so relaxing. Cam had a blast too, we were there without any fussing for around 3 hours probably, and no nap! We also borrowed one of Ken's hats and tightened it all the way so that he wouldn't get sun in his face too. Aunt Tee bought him his first McDonald's happy meal and he actually ate it! I was floored. A perfect day. :-)

More Palo Alto Fun

So, we made a pit stop at the Walgreens for some teething gel because Cam's had a really hard time with his back left molar coming in. It's just been this mound of flesh with white slowly becoming more prominent under the skin, but never poking through. I could tell that it was bugging him, so in the hopes for a better day at the beach and a better flight at the end of the trip I thought we'd try some gel. And can I just say...night and day. I put a dab of that stuff on his gums and he was an angel the rest of the day. I'm sold! I also went ahead and bought him a binky while I was in there as a last ditch effort to thwart crying on the plane ride home, but it's been so long that he didn't even know what to do with it. After fiddling around with it he finally just decided to chew on it for a little while. Better luck next time Mom! We had lunch in Nordstrom's the day before we left. After debating if we should do take out or sit and dine, we ...

Gilroy Gardens

Image
Aunt Tee got free tickets to a kids amusement park called Gilroy Gardens, so we all went on Saturday for Uncle Ken and Jayce's last day. Most of the rides were for older kids and the lines were really long, but on the whole it was really fun. I had a good time just walking around the park too. An amusement park just for children is a pretty good idea I think. Cameron got to do a few things and I think he enjoyed it for the most part, although all he does in the pictures is look solemn haha. I don't think he knew quite how to act while on the rides because he couldn't decide if he felt it was fun or a little scary to let something else move you around. Carousel: Hot air balloon ride: Daddy ride:  ;-)  They had a pretty waterfall/stream/lake thing going on. Jayce was adventurous enough to run under the waterfalls with Cam.

Aunt Tee Babysitting

Image
On Friday, Aunt Tee was nice enough to watch Cameron while me, Jayce, and Uncle Ken went to go see Lincoln in the theaters. I love seeing movies. :-) It was really good and the acting was excellent.  We put Cam down for a nap before we left, so he was sleeping for almost all of the movie. When he woke up he adjusted to the idea that Aunt Tee was there instead of Mom and Dad while eating lunch. Aunt Tee's babysitting strategy with all the nieces/nephews is marshmallows. Worked for James, and worked for Cam! When we were done with the movie Jayce and I met up with them at the park. I love this little park! This section of it is all sand and it has a sweet water area. It was a little chilly, but we let Cam play with it still. When Jayce disappeared I soon realized that it was to climb trees. Oh Jayce. :-) Cameron went over to find him when he heard us talking to him and was pretty mad that Dad was in a tree where Cameron couldn't follow. He just looked up at...

A fan-stinking-tastic Thanksgiving

Image
Jayce and I had a nice, relaxing Thanksgiving trip to Aunt Teresa and Uncle Ken's house in Palo Alto, CA. Jayce was there Wednesday-Sunday and I stayed for a full week. Aunt Tee and I enjoyed some girl time after Uncle Ken and Jayce left! Flight #1: Cam was kind of a monster on and off the whole flight. It was miraculous when he fell asleep for the last 30 minutes, but it did NOT excite me about the return flight without Jayce. I couldn't help taking a picture the next morning. Father and son bed head. Love these men! Cam loved the nice weather and actually having a backyard to play in. We went out there just about every day of our visit. He LOVES being outside! To top it off Aunt Tee had a few rubber balls out there for him to play with...he was in Heaven. Here he is with our favorite little garden gnome. One of the first things Jayce did outside was lay out on the lawn chair. As soon as he was off of it, Cameron wanted to try. He wants to be just like D...
