Christmas!!!!
Christmas jammies on Christmas Eve has always been a tradition for Jayce. This year we got Porter Power t-shirts and let me tell you they were a hit with the kids. Every time Cameron puts his shirt on he yells, "Porter Powerrrrr!!!!!!" with a fist punch in the air.
Also, everyone take note that he's smiling in this group picture and non of our kids are crying. Miracles can happen!
Then of course we can't help but have a mini photoshoot. Welcome to the Christmas pics Kathryn!
There's at least one face in each of the following pictures that just tickles me.
Annd after that we make the boys do it too.
But don't worry, they're still really manly.
Maybe? Don't ask me, I don't even know how this came to be haha.
Christmas morning!
Nana came over for a few hours in the afternoon and a few people sat down for a rousing game of Sorry. I can't remember who won, but I did learn that Nana's a bit of cheat! :-)
One of my favorite gifts that was given was a slide show that Dad Porter gave to Mom Porter. Sometimes when we all get together we end up watching everyone's wedding slide shows. Since they never had one, he decided to get all their old pictures together for a slide show that covered them from birth to where they are now. Baby pictures, high school sweetheart pictures, early child raising years, mission, empty nesters, it was all there and it's such a neat slide show to watch. It's a good reminder that we really are leaving legacies behind us and it was a really touching experience to sit in that room and watch them look at their legacy together.
It got me thinking about my life and what I'm leaving for those to come. What have I already written? Where do I want things to go? Am I really giving as much faith as I can to the Lord? Am I giving life everything I've got? It has been a good New Year for reflection and growth, mainly because of some of my own personal trials I've been experiencing. Our future is as bright as our faith, right? I'm also just really happy that I get to keep building my life with Jayce beside me. :-) Here's to a New Year!
