Backyard Egg Hunt
We were looking forward to the Easter Egg hunt Santaquin City normally puts on, but they canceled it this year to reserve the funding for other things. So, we had a little egg hunt in our backyard with Cameron's pre-school group, their siblings, and a few other neighborhood kids.
As always, getting this many parents and kids to take a picture is quite humurous.
To make it fair, we decided to do it in three waves with the kids under 2 being the first wave. I thought they would need a couple of minutes to really get into it, but they bolted for the eggs and started picking them up fast! Then we sent off the 3/4 year olds and finally the older kids to clean up shop in some of the trickier hiding spots.

My friend got this great action shot of Cameron (over on the left) flying through the air after the eggs. Here he comes in his Spiderman boots of glory.
So for my family--here's Annie Clark! My parent's have been really good friends with Tom and Elna Clark since college. Tom was pretty instrumental in setting my parents up actually. I remember visiting the Clark family in California when I was little girl. We thought it was a fun coincidence when one of Tom and Elna's sons moved into my home stake in Virginia, but it has been an even crazier coincidence that Annie (youngest Clark child) and her husband moved into the bank-owned home behind our house a few months ago! It was really fun to make the connection. I see their house every day and we have been known to meet at the fence to pass over needed ingredients, food samples, and just to chit chat. I hope stuff like this happens to my kids someday. So fun.
Enjoying their spoils.
This cute, fluffy little puppy came to watch the festivities, but made Benson an emotional basket case when it came over to sniff around him. We're working on the dog thing!
We did this as a big Family Home Evening, so I asked Jayce to put together a lesson. We decided to have 1 golden egg in a tricky location, which one of the cute Hintze girls found. It was empty, which Jayce explained symbolized the empty tomb and that Christ's resurrection is the best gift of Easter. He then gave her 8 quarters as a prize and explained that 8 is an infinity symbol that never ends, just like we can live eternally thanks to Christ.
High five Jayce!
