Fourth of July Weekend!

So, last year we did the Freedom Run 5k on the 4th and decided we would do it whenever we had the opportunity because it's a GREAT 5k. So much fun. This year it got bigger and badder since a lot of family on Jayce's side was in town and we went crazy with matching apparel. Glad I have fun people to act silly with. :-)


Right after crossing the finish line. I was trying to set a PR--9:32 second miles people, that's fabulous for someone who's normally slow as molasses! Jayce ran the last half with me to cheer me on. :)

Then of course we had a photo shoot because we're girls and we like dressing up annnnd we want to keep the memories fresh. Sorry, it's probably a little much.

It seems like every year the Dark Side walks down the parade route and every year it gets bigger. It also makes me giggle and amazedly ask, "What are they doing here? This is awesome! How random!" but then I think that I'm pretty sure I'm having dejavue and that this exact scene plays out every Provo Fourth.


They were waving to the pageant girls and I thought it was cute.


Somehow Tristan and Ben ended up sharing a chair and I don't think Ben liked it much. ;-)

These two learned how to climb in and out of their pack n' plays on the Fourth of July as a special little treat for Mommy and Daddy, which means they played their entire nap and then crashed on the way to fireworks. Ben woke up for some of it, but Jack being Jack was conked out for the entire thing.

Welcome to the World Aiden Titus

Something big arrived in the Porter Family early in the morning on September 29! He's big, he's blonde, and he has kisses all over his chunky cheeks...welcome to the world Aiden Titus Porter!  He was my second largest baby weighing in at 8 lb 10 oz, his abundance of blonde hair is reminiscent of Cameron, he's the 17th grandchild on the Porter side and the 14th on the Terry side and he came into the world fast and furious like his next-older brother, Spencer. He also completes the Porter basketball team. Summer Olympics 2032, here we come! Mom's Gone

My Mom died in the early hours of June 29 of complications from pneumonia. She was one month shy of her 67 th birthday. I’ll be processing everything from the morning of her death to the day she was buried for a long time. I’m so grateful that I was able to talk to my mom just two days before she passed. I had sat down at my computer after rocking Spencer to sleep and it was quiet time in the Porter house. My mind went blank as soon as I sat down and I relaxed, which is abnormal because I usually feel torn between doing ten things at once when I sit down to “get stuff done” during quiet time. So I thought, “Well, what should I do? It’s been a while since I talked to Mom...” When I asked her how she was she answered, “Well, actually not so good,” and she explained that she had just come home from the doctor’s office where she found out that she had pneumonia.   She filled me in on some details from her appointment and how she had been feeling recently.
