Things I Forgot...
There were a few really sweet things that happened while Jayce was gone that I needed to make note of.
When I was sick on the couch Jack and Ben kept coming up to me and crying because they wanted me to do this that and the other for them and they were probably really confused about why I hadn't been paying much attention to them. I looked up at Cameron, who was standing by the pantry looking at me and the twins and all of a sudden he said, "Jack and Ben! Mommy's just so sick, let's go into the toy room." Super sweetly he lead them into the toy room with him. He saw a need and rushed to help. That has to be one of the sweetest things to watch your child do in motherhood.
This scene with Jack played out later that day and a few other times on bad days:
Jack: "Mommy, you sick?"
Me: "Yes, Jack."
Jack: "Oh. You wan a blanket?"
Me: "Yes, Jack."
And then he would run to the basket of kid blankets in their toy room and come back with one which he would then try to drape over me. It always made me smile. :-)
Ben got really good at snuggling with me on the couch and giving me his sweet little angel kisses.
Oh, these boys. Occasionally they go for short walks with a cute girl in our neighborhood and when they're walking out the door the embarrassing mother in me wants to rapidly burst out, "Be so so careful because I love you so much I might not breathe the whole time you're gone and it's soul crushing to imagine being without you! K bye! I LOVE YOU!"
On another note, the boys are playing right behind me and Jack has been happily telling everyone that he's a horsey. Cameron just walked in and said, "No Jack, you're not a horsey, you're a wild buffalo." To which Jack dramatically said, "NO! I'm a HORSEY!" :-)
