Fall Visitors

By the end of of the year, all but three relatives on the Terry side will have been to our house. It has been fantastic. We recently got to enjoy some Stay time and Aunt Tee time.

Rebekah and her kids came down first for a short weekend trip. My two favorite things were:
1. Talking to Rebekah into the wee hours. Jayce came home at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning to find us still up.
2. Seeing the cousins play. My kids are lucky to have so many great cousins on both sides of the family.

Playing in the backyard. The boys showed them the "factory" they "work" in under the deck. They were out there for a while playing in the dirt and collecting acorns to put in the factory for the squirrels.

I love this picture. It's also fitting for them because a few hours later they were playing in that exact same spot when they came across some ground wasps (Who knew those were a thing?? Not me.) and got stung. More on that to come.

Lady Lucy. I realized on this trip that she loves me but just doesn't know it yet. One day we'll paint each others nails and gab about which Disney princess we like the most.

Down to the Savannah River. This area is beautiful and because of the "dreary" morning there was barely anybody there. It was perfect.

She was just too cute not to take a picture of.

James made these masks during quiet time for him and Cameron!

James and Cameron spent the last part of quiet time playing outside in the back yard again. I was feeding Spencer in a chair in my living room while talking to Rebekah and Jayce. All of a sudden we hear screaming coming from the boys outside. I thought surely someone was going to need an ER visit. James and Cameron came running up the deck stairs and I just sat there helplessly with Spencer while Jayce and Rebekah dealt with the chaos. Cameron was crying, James was screaming, Rebekah and Jayce were frantically trying to figure out what was wrong.

I heard something about "bees" and "stinging" and the next thing I know Jayce and Rebekah are half stripping half swatting at the boys. Jayce was swiftly grabbing wasps off of Cameron's jeans with Cameron's balled up shirt and Rebekah rushed James onto the deck for a de-wasping. It was a little traumatic and at one point Cameron cried out, "Nobody can survive this many bee stings!! We're going to die!!!" Thank you Wild Kratts for the African Killer Bees episode. The adults had a good laugh over that comment afterwards, it's definitely going in the family quote bank.

James ended up with three stings and luckily Cameron only ended up with one. While they iced their wounds they watched a YouTube video about real killer bees.

Next Terry guest...Aunt Teresa! You can tell we'll be taking all of our guests to the river.

It was great to have Aunt Tee come for a visit. We spent a good portion of our time talking and eating caramel apples. :-) We also went out to lunch with the boys and Tee watched the boys while I volunteered at Cameron's school. Jayce and I also got to go out on a date. He fell asleep, but I still love him.
We tried a new Chinese place. We were the only ones in there besides the 7 year old doing homework and watching shows at a table in the back. It made for a relaxing atmosphere because we did a lot of talking and planning. It was a family owned restaurant and the husband and wife cooked and served us. It kind of felt like we were strangers in their home though. An interesting date, but we will probably stick with Jayce's other Chinese food find. Jayce fell asleep while I was finishing my food. Apparently this is a thing for intern wives. "Where did your husband fall asleep??"

We met up with the Stay's in Charlotte, NC at an awesome community park. Aunt Tee spent several days with us and then went home with Rebekah and Ben for a few more days before returning home. It was a great day at the park and one of the first good solid Fall days.

Lucy, Jonny, Rebekah, and Ben spent quite a bit of time searching for acorns.

Aunt Tee and See's candy suckers. It's tradition!
