Camping
We went camping mid November. We normally go every summer but I never managed to work up enough steam for it. I'm glad now because the fall weather is so much nicer.
It was a great trip. The kind of trip when boys can be boys. I love watching them get dirty and having the best time with sticks and sand and whatever else is lying around. The company didn't hurt either, we went with two other resident families from church.
This was the view from the tent site:
Lake front property! I was excited. I snapped this while I was setting up the tent. Jayce wasn't going to be up until after dark so I put on my big girl pants and set up camp. Spencer ate more dirt than I care to admit while watching me from the blanket, but luckily I had some help watching him after the Bell's showed up.
Ben enjoyed setting up with me after I got things into the tent. Things that come to mind thinking about Ben in the tent: monkey, kangaroo, destroyer, teddy bear.
Cameron and Spencer snuggling on my cot in the morning. It was super cute.
Speaking of cute, I couldn't get enough of Spencer in this hat. (Obviously)
Eating breakfast. It was Ada's birthday, so we celebrated with fancy pancakes. There's just something about those Tidwell grins!
Boys being boys:
Above: Benson saying "CHEEEEEEEESE."
Below was after me saying, "Benson, let me get a picture of you with your leaf!"
We've really got this picture thing down in the Porter family!
Jayce enjoying the fresh air and sun on his face.
Girls being girls:
After breakfast I took the kids on a walk to this neat sand bar that we kept seeing people on. The trail was deceivingly long, but they were so excited about the idea of getting their feet wet once we got there.
It was a great family trip and breathed fresh air into our lives again.
