Jayce's 30th

Jayce turned THIRTY! I originally wanted to throw him a surprise party for the big 3-0 but then I realized, 1. Nearly everyone Jayce would want there lives out of state, and 2. Those who Jayce knows here in Georgia all have odd ball schedules and it would be a nightmare to try to plan something around that. So, I decided a "virtual party" was my best bet for making this one memorable for him.

He didn't realize what was going on until midway through his lunch break, but he lit up when he saw what people were doing. At least that's the vibe I got from his text. 

I got such a kick out of watching people post things too. It was so kind. I'm still so so grateful for everyone's pictures and kind words. It really made the day special for Jayce. He also had several people make fun videos for him. It was awesome!

He also got a few fantastic gifts that he had his eyes on for quite some time. I hope his brain archived the day in the "GREAT" category.

A week or so before his birthday I asked him what dessert he would want if he could choose anything in the world. After a few moments of thought, he sheepishly smiled and said, "Puppy chow!" Well, I already do that for Father's Day so I couldn't leave it at that. I decided to try a puppy chow ice cream cake. He grew up with his mom making ice cream cakes, so I was hoping the two elements combined would make it a fun birthday treat.

 
And because I forgot to check if we had any more birthday candles, this left over "5" candle had to do.

When your cute Sarah asked us to do this I had to laugh because my immediate thought was, "I can't guarantee that once Dan gets involved they will be appropriate!" Lol. Welcome to the World Aiden Titus

Something big arrived in the Porter Family early in the morning on September 29! He's big, he's blonde, and he has kisses all over his chunky cheeks...welcome to the world Aiden Titus Porter!  He was my second largest baby weighing in at 8 lb 10 oz, his abundance of blonde hair is reminiscent of Cameron, he's the 17th grandchild on the Porter side and the 14th on the Terry side and he came into the world fast and furious like his next-older brother, Spencer. He also completes the Porter basketball team. Summer Olympics 2032, here we come! Mom's Gone

My Mom died in the early hours of June 29 of complications from pneumonia. She was one month shy of her 67 th birthday. I’ll be processing everything from the morning of her death to the day she was buried for a long time. I’m so grateful that I was able to talk to my mom just two days before she passed. I had sat down at my computer after rocking Spencer to sleep and it was quiet time in the Porter house. My mind went blank as soon as I sat down and I relaxed, which is abnormal because I usually feel torn between doing ten things at once when I sit down to “get stuff done” during quiet time.
