Family Photos

Image
We got family photos taken because I knew how I wanted to announce the twins (thank you Pinterest!) and we figured we might as well get some good, updated family shots while we were at it. My friend Megan Valantine is one of the med wives and has two awesome businesses...graphic design (web pages, printables, company stuff, etc.) and photography. Can a mom have two more awesome jobs?? I want to be Megan when I grow up. ;-) So, I was able to book Meg for our family photos. Here's her site: http://meganvalantine.com and go ahead and like her on facebook if you like our photos! Here's the announcement that pretty much everyone has seen: A little fun fact behind it though is that we weren't originally planning on Cam being upside down, although it worked rather well. Cam was not into taking photos that evening and was more than willing to let us know. Kicking, screaming...the whole 9 yards. The photo shoot lasted 30 minutes tops and Megan had to work her butt...

Cam Bam Gets the Flu

Cameron got his first real illness in mid November. It started off with him having a totally normal morning, but after a while he got really sassy and started throwing fits. He had one of his screaming fits, which he normally does when he isn't feeling well. So, I borrowed my friend's thermometer and sure enough he had a slight fever. Nothing too big though. I put him down for his nap thinking he'd probably be fine after he slept. He was restless in his sleep so I went in a couple of times to check his temperature and it was only rising. :-( So, I started getting a little nervous and was texting Jayce about what I should do. We go back and forth about what medicines to give and when it's really necessary to give them. After he woke up his temp was creeping to 101 and he wouldn't eat, so I gave him some tylenol. Normally when he has a fever tylenol gets him right out of it and he starts acting normal again, but it wouldn't drop below 99.5. More worrying. I laid d...

All About Cam in November

My new favorite video is of Cameron falling asleep in my arms. He had been playing with this animal sounds app I have on my phone and all of a sudden I noticed that his head kept bobbing. It was two hours before his normal nap, but there was no doubt that he was falling asleep. I switched my phone to the video camera real quick so I could catch some of the action haha. The zoo had a free day and Jayce even took some time off from studying to come with! We have learned that Cameron takes after his mommy, who takes after her mom. He's a popcorn eater. He doesn't normally just sit down to watch movies, but when you give a Cam some popcorn...he'll want to sit and watch. I finally did a Christmas craft that pinned on Pinterest last year. Yay! Cam loved it until it got pulled down! Now I just need to get it back up. I picked Cam up out of his crib the other morning to find this:  Not just a little pee...a whole stomach/lower reg...

Catching Up from October

I wanted to make sure I documented some of Cameron's latest habits that  I otherwise might have glossed over or forgotten later! Cameron has started carrying around his "blanky" for a little bit after he wakes up. When I pick him up out of his crib, he points back into the crib immediately and makes a little noise to let me know that he wants something in there. He doesn't stop until I pick up Mr. Cow (I'm so original in my name choices. My stuffed animal was a bunny named...wait for it....Mr. Bunny.) and his blanky. Then he'll snuggle up to them again for a moment and he's all set for breakfast again! I think it's adorable! Although, it does become a problem when he won't eat his food in his high chair because he also wants to be holding the cow and the blanket. Those two activities just don't mix. By the way, see the binky? It is now deceased! That green one was the last one that we had and it was getting pretty gross, so I went and bo...

We Have a Confession...!

Image
Sooo...how do I put this any other way? We are pregnant. :-) Wanna know something else a little crazy? Not only are we having baby #2, we are also having baby #3 at the same time. Say what??!! It's true, you can believe your eyes...we are having twins. (!) Mind blown? Mine was! I'm technically due May 21 (two days before Cam's bday) but full term for twins is really 37/38 weeks, so they will most likely come early May. At least I'm hoping that I will make it until May...! I've been documenting most of the exciting stuff in "unpublished" blog posts, but instead of writing most of it again I'll just post them and share the links! Here is the story about how we found out there were two babies on the way: http://porterfamilypost.blogspot.com/2012/11/so-did-i-mention-im-having-twins.html Friends and family were really excited when we announced that we were pregnant with Cameron, but I must say that the reactions this time around have been truly ...
