Halloween at the Porter's

We had a great Halloween! The boys totally surprised me with how much they enjoyed being in costume. Benson and Jackson both HATE wearing hats. Benson will tolerate them for a little bit longer than Jack if you make him smile right after you put it on, but with Jack it's an instant fit until he can get the hat off. They not only kept their hats on, but were reluctant to let us take them off at the end of night. Total score! Maybe these are their new winter hats? They were Mario, Luigi, and Toadstool from Mario Brothers.

The beginning of the day was pretty normal, but after lunch we went down to the elementary school to watch some of the neighborhood kids in their Halloween parade. It made me excited to reach that phase of life and Cam really enjoyed it.

Then during dinner these guys showed up. :)
Having Grammy and Grampy over for Halloween festivities was great. We'll soak up all the family time we can get while we're in Utah because who knows where we'll be in a couple of years. They came in serenading the kids with a Halloween song and bursting with fun energy despite the fact that they just barely returned from a trip to Hong Kong.

Playing in our backyard while singing the Halloween song to more nephews and nieces.

Mom and Dad playing our Mario game.

Another reason this Halloween was so great was Cameron's enthusiasm. This was his first time being really excited for the trick-or-treating part. It's so fun to see him get more and more into holidays as he gets older.

We topped off the night with donuts and apple juice…and gave most of the candy to the rest of the trick-or-treaters..!
