Grammy and Grampy's Roller Coaster

Image
Grampy and Grammy had a big surprise for the grandkids to open this year. Something to be enjoyed time and time again when the kids visit, and let me tell you it did not disappoint.  Let me introduce you to the ROLLER COASTERRRRRR!!! (Or, the next source of fighting over and yelling for the grandchildren as Jayce so lovingly put it.) Cameron ended up getting his wish to be the first one to ride it. Is it weird that every time I watch the video I want to say, "First jumper, Cam!" Do I read too much? Anyone else have this problem? Jack was up for it the very first time, but after that he didn't want to get back on. As you can see in the video, he wasn't exactly thrilled while riding. That lead to this: Benson actually ended up loving it. But he did seem to have a death wish for it. We were constantly trying to keep him from running at the roller coaster. This video is a good illustration of what happens when you let your guard down for a...

Porter Christmas Activities

Image
This Christmas vacation will forever go down as the "sick year" but luckily we were able to have a lot of fun before the plagues set in! We had a Family Home Evening awards ceremony put on by Fit Felicia and Ripped Ryan. Scott and Kathryn got all of our butts in gear in the early fall by setting a goal that between all of the adults doing push-ups, sit-ups, and lunges we should push for a group goal of hitting 100,000 reps before Christmas. After the first couple of weeks when we were still feeling totally pumped we got cocky and amped up the reps to 130,000 and added a goal for a collective total of cardio minutes. Then somewhere in the middle we all faltered and as time continued it looked less and less likely that we would achieve the goal, then BOOM! We pulled through in the last couple of weeks like Spartans for the win! Also brought to us by Kathryn and Scott was our M&M taste test. Did you know they make candy corn flavored M&M's? Ew. Tryin...

Christmas!!!!

Christmas jammies on Christmas Eve has always been a tradition for Jayce. This year we got Porter Power t-shirts and let me tell you they were a hit with the kids. Every time Cameron puts his shirt on he yells, "Porter Powerrrrr!!!!!!" with a fist punch in the air. Also, everyone take note that he's smiling in this group picture and non of our kids are crying. Miracles can happen!  Then of course we can't help but have a mini photoshoot. Welcome to the Christmas pics Kathryn! There's at least one face in each of the following pictures that just tickles me. Annd after that we make the boys do it too. But don't worry, they're still really manly. Maybe? Don't ask me, I don't even know how this came to be haha. Christmas morning! Nana came over for a few hours in the afternoon and a few people sat down for a rousing game of Sorry. I can't remember who won, but I did learn that Na...
