All Around Boy Update

Image
JACKSON Jack had a moment in FHE a while ago that I loved so much! Some of the treasured moments of parenting come from times when your kids say or do something that's just genuinely hilarious to you. Like you can't prevent yourself from laughing with them. We were playing Simon Says and Cameron had just gone and gotten Jack and Ben to laugh by doing things like, "Simon says pat your bum!" So, Jack was riding on a silly high when his turn came. He got up in front of us and I saw the moment when an idea entered his head that was so funny he couldn't even say the words. He was laughing so hard and kept trying to say something but could only get out, "Simon...(hard laughter) Simon says...(hard laughter)" Something about seeing him in that situation just made me bust up! Also, in true Jack fashion, here are some places he fell asleep this month.   I know he's wearing the exact same outfit in all the photos, but they were two differen...

A Saturday Morning and Other Random Moments

Image
Last Saturday morning I just noticed random sweet moments that made me grateful for every day life. I snapped some pictures to capture them. The boys came downstairs like this: And shortly after this: Ben's new eye patches arrived in the mail and they're super cool. The boys got really excited about making Spencer some baby food. They especially loved "shocking" the peas. When Jayce woke up, it was feeding time! There's just something about homemade baby food that I love. It's not that the store bought stuff isn't fine and dandy, I've just really enjoyed making all the boys their baby food. It's rewarding to start off with the whole vegetables and fruits and turn them into something bright, delicious, and nutritious for a baby. Some other random peaks into our lives: I cut my hair. The humidity and heat in Georgia, having it fall in Spencer's face every time I lay him down, having it get caught ...

Visitors

Image
Since we moved to Georgia I have been to North Carolina once, Virginia once, my mom has been down to visit us three times, my dad has been once, and my sister-in-law and her girls have been once. You can say we are enjoying being close to the east coasters for the first time! Mom is truly enjoying being a full time Grammy in her retirement and Pinterest is there to fuel her fire. She made these "calming bottles" for the boys. And showed us how cool water beads are.  *Side note: Cameron made that hat at school when they read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?  and when Cameron was showing me he said, "I put all these beautiful colors down here because of you. I knew you'd like these colors." Thanks sweet boy. The boys earned tickets to a Green Jackets baseball game through their summer reading program at the library and since Jayce was working, it was nice to have Mom in town to help take them there. Cameron showed more interest in the ...

27 Feels Pretty Good

Image
My birthday ended up being Cameron's first day of school. It worked out great because Jayce had the day off and my mom was in town. We got to have our special first-day-of-school experience with Cameron in the morning and then we got to take Jack and Ben to a bounce house place while Mom stayed home with Spencer. It was nice to get quality time with each kid during the day. A new friend, one of the other intern wives dropped these off for me too. She is so sweet. I don't even know how she new it was my birthday. Jayce searched high and low for this fruit tart because he knew it was what I wanted in my heart of hearts. I love chocolate, I mean love  chocolate. But I also love these and had them for every birthday in high school thanks to Wegmen's, so it feels like tradition. It was fitting since Mom was here for it too. Jayce finally had luck at Whole Foods and although it was more than we have ever spent on a desert, it was fabulous and I'm grateful for Jayc...

Spencer Baby

Image
Spencer. Oh my goodness, Spencer. He is such a bright spot in our lives right now. I take time to just breathe him in every day.  Maybe it's that Cameron going to school has awakened me to how fast these boys will grow. Maybe it's that I've realized I have less babies left to have than I already have. Maybe it's that his temperament has been perfect for how hard our latest transitions have been. Maybe it's that somehow he has helped me to better appreciate and soak in each of the other boys as well. We are all just over the moon about Spencer. He gets passed around like a hot potato in our ward on Sundays. I don't see him for the 2nd or 3rd hour and I actually almost left church without him one Sunday! Sorry baby. Someone I've never met in my ward came over yesterday and saw Spencer on the floor and said, "Oh, you're who he belongs to!" Of course, everyone knows him for his hair. You can see how it has progressed over time in t...
