Utah To-Do List: Salt Lake City Stuff
There were a couple of things that we wanted to do in Salt Lake City too. A couple of those things were checked off the list back in April when Jayce surprised me for our 3rd anniversary. Did I tell you that story? I'll tell it again because I love it.
I do this thing when a special event like my birthday or our anniversary is coming up--I look for signs that Jayce has a plan and when I don't see any I assume he doesn't have any plans and I get kind of sulky. He always proves me wrong, but yet I always fall into the trap. Our recent anniversary was no different. (When will I learn??) I didn't really think Jayce had anything special planned and was bummed. Then he told me that he wanted me to pick him up from a trax stop in Salt Lake. Normally, I pick him up from a stop much closer, so I knew something was up. I thought he was throwing together a last minute plan just to keep me from being perturbed, so I figured I was going to pick him up at a trax stop close to City Creek, where we would walk around and grab dinner. I'm so annoying, I know, it's pretty embarrassing to let you into my head on this. Low and behold the address that he led me to was not a trax stop, but the Anniversary Inn. *Gold!* I was completely shocked! I pulled up and my jaw just dropped, "Are we spending the night here?? We're not going home tonight?!"I was beyond surprised. It was so great to have a little get-away!
The next afternoon we went to the Salt Lake Temple to do some temple work. It was so good to go and remember our wedding. :-) I loved it. Plus, it was quite entertaining because we were in the room working with 4 other couples who were in their 80's or higher. They were a group of friends who met every week to do temple work together and they were a crack up!
Back to present month, Jayce and I went down into Salt Lake together on Friday to check a couple more things off the list. Jayce hadn't been to City Creek yet even though I had already been twice, so I wanted to take him there. I really just wanted to show him the cool fountains that they have there because they rock!
We finished with dinner at The Pie on the University of Utah campus. I had been there freshmen year and loved it and wanted to go again before leaving Utah. Pizza is an all time favorite of mine, and this place knows how to make gooooood pizza. It was just as delicious as I remembered! I'm pretty sure J Dawgs is to BYU what The Pie is to the U. Am I right?
