A little update


Jayce and I finally took down all of the wedding announcements that we acquired over the summer. Now our fridge is so bare! Weddings are so fun though. :-) We're just waiting for the next wave of friends to get married so that we can start building up all over again, haha.

Life is pretty good in the Porter apartment at the moment. School, work, and church can make life pretty crazy sometimes, but all in all we're loving it. How productive are you being if you don't have a little bit of stress in you life anyways, right? ;-) We had a nice and relaxing conference weekend this passed weekend as well. We watched the two Saturday sessions in the Wilk because Jayce was on shift with EMS, plus we were studying up there (I know..you get married and suddenly your social prime time becomes homework time. Weird.). We decided to watch the Sunday sessions from the comfort of our own apartment as well. It was great. We had french toast in the morning, watched Conference, read, I scrapbooked, watched Conference, scrapbooked some more...it was fabulous. :-)

Another added bonus was that I had a ladies night with Lindsey and Jessica, two of my sister-in-laws. We went to Deseret Book and because we were the first 100 in line (yes we went early to wait in line) we got cute free wooden plaques with a quote Elder Wirthlin's last talk! Lindsey and I also went into Roberts nextdoor while Jessica held our spots and bought some crafty things. Afterwards we went to Red Robin for dinner because they had cheeseburgers for $5 with bottomless fries, not to mention that we split a strawberry milkshake thanks to Lindsey's free milkshake coupon. :-) After priesthood session we met up with friends and had chocolate fondue! I know, a perfect night.

Sorry it's the wrong way, but for some reason it wouldn't load correctly. Here it is though, cute huh?

    Awww that sounds so fun! Yay for chocolate fondue, cheeseburgers, bottomless fries and Conference weekend! On a completely unrelated note...guess what I'm doing right now? uploading ALL of the Harry Potter audiobooks on to my Ipod. I'll be ready when little Harry Danger Porter comes along fo sho :-)

    so cute. I love how Lindsey's into the whole coupon thing (we are going to a thing tonight:)) Oh, btw, I know you quit dance (and I have too) but my instructor is looking for people to do the nutcracker that will perform in Park City. I am vacillating between if I should do it or not, if you wanted to do it with me...

Spencer's Birth Story

After those last days of trying my hardest to push away the heightening anticipation of Spencer's arrival, he finally arrived two weeks ago today! Now those days seem so far away. It's amazing how quickly the tables turn. Your life seems to be building up to one particular moment for so long and then all of a sudden you're on the other side of that moment and it's like life has never been any different. Here is the last "belly picture" I took before his arrival and I only thought about it because my parents had requested one. The difference between the first and the fourth kid I guess. Mom's Gone

My Mom died in the early hours of June 29 of complications from pneumonia. She was one month shy of her 67 th birthday. I’ll be processing everything from the morning of her death to the day she was buried for a long time. I’m so grateful that I was able to talk to my mom just two days before she passed. I had sat down at my computer after rocking Spencer to sleep and it was quiet time in the Porter house. My mind went blank as soon as I sat down and I relaxed, which is abnormal because I usually feel torn between doing ten things at once when I sit down to “get stuff done” during quiet time. So I thought, “Well, what should I do? It’s been a while since I talked to Mom...” When I asked her how she was she answered, “Well, actually not so good,” and she explained that she had just come home from the doctor’s office where she found out that she had pneumonia.   She filled me in on some details from her appointment and how she had been feeling recently.
