This is the beautiful painting that Cassandra Barney painted of one of the dances that I was in in the BYU Modern Dance Faculty Concert. This part of the piece was choreographed by Susan Lloyd who originally based it on another one of her artworks and then Cassandra decided to just paint a picture of the three of us. I'm either the one in the blue because I wore a blue dress, or the one in the red because she's in the same pose that I was in in the picture Cassandra used to paint the portrait. I'll go with whichever! Cassandra said that she would probably sell the painting at her next art show for a few thousand dollars..a little steep for me and Jayce.

Jayce brought his Nana along to the show as his date. Like every wonderful Grandma, the dance that I was in was her favorite of course. :-)

This is Cassandra Barney and her sister, Emilie McPhie. They both had choreography based on their artwork. We gave them BYU Dance shirts as a thank you and they had a lot of fun being artistic in them. They are hilarious.

We performed our piece in the lobby of the Harris Fine Arts Center to advertise for the show and so that we could dance with the pictures since they were put on display there for a couple of weeks. It was so neat because people just stopped and gathered to see what was going on. They were peaking over all of the railings from the second and third levels too.

Goofing off backstage. This piece was based on Cassandra and Emilie's dad's artwork. A painting called "Blind Leading the Blind" All in all, it was a great piece to be in. It was so fun to work with everyone involved because it was such a big collaboration project: The choreographers, dancers, artists, and musicians that played live music for us. It was awesome!
One more show to go this semester! I love dance and I love BYU!
