Los Padres!
She says: My dad has always been one of my biggest fans. He's great that way. :-) We like to call him Clark Kent because he's so dashing and looks like he could pass as Superman and his theme song is "Secret Agent Man" by Johnny Rivers. Voila:
Some of my favorite memories of my dad revolve around historical sites, dance concerts, and family time at home. Many families enjoy taking vacations on cruises to tropical, relaxing beaches, but our family has always much preferred outings to historical sites. :-) (Especially since there are so many fabulous things within our range on the east coast.) I have seen my dad tear up outside John Adams home in Massachusetts, in the house where Joseph Smith grew up in New York, and in the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond, VA just to name a few. My dad arranged for us to be taken down into a vault at the Museum of the Confederacy so that we could look at our ancestor's regiment's flag. It was so neat to have something that would have meant so much to my ancestor so close. I love that both of my parents love history so much and that they have helped me connect to the past in such a way that is very meaningful to me as well.
He really wanted a picture with the monument in Boston depicting the first all-black volunteer company fighting for the Union in the Civil War.Dad has also always been there for me at dance performances. Both my mom and my dad always made efforts to be there, even if it was a night that I was only dancing a couple small parts. He's known to have teared up in a couple of shows as well. Such a tender heart!
I have a fabulous dad and am soooo grateful for all that he has done for me over the years! I love love love him!!He Says: So while looking up the definition of Father in the dictionary, one may find several definitions. One of those definitions explains that a Father is a Provider. I think this can pertain to several different areas of life, for example: a provider temporally, physically, and spiritually. My dad has been an amazing example in all of these areas! We were not only provided with the temporal things we needed, but we were taught how to get them on our own as well. I learned the principle of hard work from my dad.
He worked hard to keep our family close together. We've continued those close relationships even today. Above all, my dad has been a wonderful spiritual provider for our family. He oftentimes would come down to my room late at night after a long day and counsel me to stay on the right path. What a wonderful example he has been.
Happy Father's Day Dad! Thanks for everything!
