Hello September, Tell Me How You Doin'

This is how my September started:
Just plain mm..mm..good. I made these gooey treasures for this:

My freshmen year reunion!! Oh boy did I love freshmen year, it brings back such great memories. I could probably devote a whole post just to freshmen year...maybe I will someday. Long live the BYU 96th ward.

Girls will be girls...

And so we now progress to Labor Day, a grueling day really. Quite fitting for say, a marathon?

That's right ladies and gentlemen, IT HAS PASSED! I have officially run in my first marathon with these lovely ladies! (On a side note: I wish I had decided to smile normally in this picture, but I'll blame it on exhaustion. Buy hey, it makes me laugh, so why not you too!?)

The night before the Marshall's TOTALLY pampered us! They cooked us a fantastic Sunday dinner full of yummy carbs. I'm always amazed at how awesome the people from Jayce's stake in Colorado are.

Anxiously waiting for the race to begin. We weren't worried though because of the fantastic pre-race packages Lindsey gave us. I'll always think fondly on Sports Beans and my magical bean pouch! ;-)

Catching a water break..no it was not planned that Lindsey and I would be in the exact same pose, however it does make the picture all the more dramatic, don't you think?

3 showers, 3 massages, and 3 2hr naps later...! Lindsey made us some of our own marathon shirts to commemorate the special event. "Sole Sisters" :-) Love it!

Well, I just got to say, "Thou are the men!" These boys were the perfect cheerleaders. They followed us all along the trail and stopped a quite a few places to show support. We also had the Kirkoffer's at the finish line (who waited fooorrreeevvveerrrr, thank you!), Josh's parents along the way, as well as Valerie and her family. It helped so much and made it so much more fun! The boys then gave us massages later that afternoon and catered to our every need when we were too sore to move. Well done boys.

I'm so glad that I did the marathon. I'm not chomping on the bit to sign up for another or anything (it's been 5 days and I can just barely walk down the stairs without a hobble now), but I can definitely see myself running in some relays with the family, or half marathons. I think that my favorite part was talking to the runners in the race. Anyone you run next to is like an open book. You can just start talking to anyone because there is such a sense of "we're all in this together!" haha. You're automatically buddy-buddy with the people around you and it is just so neat!
