El Beano

Jayce and I had are 20 week ultra sound yesterday and it was determined that we are going to have a bouncing baby....BOY!!!! Jayce felt pretty proud of himself for calling it. I thought it was going to be a girl while we were in there because I didn't see anything suspicious, but then the sonographer got us a shot right in the middle of the legs and there was just no denying that the baby was indeed male. I won't post that picture though because that would just be quite rude of me, don't you think? :-) These are my two favorite pictures from our visit:

The Profile--he really looks like a baby now! How cool is that??! You can see his little baby bones and everything.

His little baby feet...the picture I took of the picture is a little more blurry, but I love love love it!

The appointment was great. Jayce and just sat there holding hands in amazement. I could have laid there for hours watching the screen show us what was going on in there. I'm not just getting bigger and bigger for nothing, there is a real live baby boy in there growing, listening, sleeping, and moving around! It's so fun to sit down and feel him move around. We got to see his brain, his arms and legs, his spine, other bones, and each chamber of his little beating heart. There is even a way for the sonographer to show the oxygenated and de-oxygenated blood moving through the chambers as it pumps to the rest of the body. How cool is modern day technology??!

We also went to our ward temple night later that evening and it was a special experience to be in the temple knowing that we have a baby boy on the way, no longer just a "bean," but a real baby boy. :-) Needless to say, it was a great day for Jayce and I.

  2. Congratulations! We love little boys! Doesn't finding out the gender make it all seem so much more real? You are halfway there. We can't wait to see baby boy Porter.
