Touro Interview
On Monday Jayce interviewed at a medical school in Henderson, Nevada called Touro. We decided to make a quick family trip out of it since it's cheaper to drive, we have friends there, and I had never seen Vegas and thought it would be fun to drive through.
We stayed with these lovelies:

Thank you Justin and Lindsey Taylor!! Their place was adorable and it was fun to see them. Lindsey is one of my old roommates from college. During Jayce's interview Lindsey and I vegged and watched Once Upon A Time, then went and walked around the Belagio and ate lunch at Panera.
Those Vegas hotels are NUTS. They've got really cool and beautiful things there, but it's just unfathomable to me how much money flows in and out of there. It made me feel weird. Not to mention all the nudey advertisements and casinos everywhere, not really my cup of tea! I'm glad I got to see the strip though. Jayce and I drove through it Sunday night as we arrived to see it all lit up. If I could choose a place to stay based on outward appearance alone, I'd chose this one:

The way down to Vegas was also awesome for two more reasons: 1. We got to stop in New Harmony, UT to visit my grandmother's grave. It's been almost a year since her death and my family hadn't seen what everything looked like with her headstone and everything, so I was really glad to be able to stop there, especially with Cameron who never met her.

2. We got to stop and walk all around the St. George temple. It's beautiful!! It looks just as beautiful up close as it does from the highway. I have an ancestor who was able to help build this temple back in the day. This was his temple and he was able to do a lot of work inside as well.

We had a lot of fun and I was glad that I got to go with Jayce on one of his interview trips. We realized that it was our first road trip with just us and Cameron and we're grateful for the good memories. :-) As far as Touro goes, Jayce and I could both see us there, but it still doesn't out rank Colorado at this point. We'll keep you posted though!
