Valentine's Day

This was probably my favorite Valentine's Day, despite the fact that I was sick with a cold. Jayce let me sleep in a little since I was sick and took care of Cameron for me in the morning (even though he was up until 2:00 a.m. the night before working on my Valentine's gift...although I only learned that later). We got to spend some time together in the morning before he left for work. He left me at the computer watching a Red Box movie and when I got up to get Cameron some tissues (he has a cold too) from the bathroom, I found this:
Jayce had gone through the bathroom and the rest of the downstairs on his way out the door and taped all these cards all over with reasons 1-52 of why he loves me. :-) Of course then I madly ran around the downstairs with Cameron in tote reading them and seeing where he had left them for me, smiling all the while.
I know that he won't always have the time or energy to do things like this, so that makes me appreciate it all the more now. We have a long road ahead of us with medical school and eventually residency (pretty much everyone we tell our plans to wants to make sure we know just how long that road is). So, I'm looking forward to reading through my card book when I'm feeling low in the future. Thanks babe, I love love love it! And you.

I got Jayce a couple of gifts that he wanted from Amazon, but they didn't arrive in time sooo...his Valentine's Day will be a little extended. I made some whoopie pies with a mix from my aunt during the day. It gave me something simple and productive to do while I was sick.

The day finished as wonderfully as it started. Jayce got off work a few hours early and we went out to dinner. We decided to do a sort of progressive dinner, drawing from a few slips of paper with restaurants on them to see where we would eat each course. We ended up getting our appetizer from Panda Express, dinner of soup from Zupas (looooove their cauliflower soup), and a milkshake for dessert from Astro Burger. With our appetizer and dessert in tow (we did the meal a little out of order too) we came back up the hill and parked at one of the look out points over Salt Lake County and made out madly. Just kidding. :-) But we did park and finish reading the last two chapters of the Hunger Games while we ate. Yes, the Hunger Games. Super romantic read for Valentine's Day, I know. We've had a really fun time reading it together though, so it was perfect to finish it out on our date. Then we came home and watched the cheesiest movie you will ever see with my in-laws (You're So Cupid, if you're wondering) and fell asleep. Nice, relaxing, and fun. Perfect for the sickie. Love you Jayce.
