All My Wreaths
I really just ought to start this post by thanking Pinterest since the genesis for all of these projects relates back to Pinterest in one way or another. So, thank you Pinterest! I went back and forth about posting this because it's so petty and I'm not trying to brag, but it's just taken forever to complete the three of these and I'm just so excited that they are done! So, for better or worse...meet my wreaths:

This one took FOR-EV-ERRRRR. It was also kind of a money pit. It ended up being way more expensive than I had planned because I had to buy so much yarn and styrofoam balls (which are pretty expensive when you need like 100 of them). I'm really happy with the way that it turned out though. Another reason it cost so much is because I needed so many balls to cover the wreath base. I bought a straw wreath because it was really cheap, but it ended up costing me more because it was so thick. Had I used a wreath with a smaller surface area, it would have cost much less. So watch out if you make something like this!

I know, another Christmas wreath. One is for inside and one is for outside on the door. I love this one because it was simple and super cheap. The whole thing cost me $3.50. Oh, I love the sound of that. It's just a wire coat hanger and a little over 70 Christmas ornaments that I banked on thanks to the D.I. I already had the ribbon too (thanks Mom!).

Yay for Halloween!! I got the witches legs, and big ribbon on super sale after last Halloween, the wreath base is a pool noodle from the Dollar Store and I used a coupon on the black burlap (which is already really cheap anyways).
I love the feeling of finishing craft projects. None of these are that difficult, but everything takes two to three times longer with a little one crawling around, so I've been working on these over the course of the last few months. Feels good to have them hang-ready for when we're in CO. Oh, byetheway, we're moving to Parker, Colorado in July...! That's another post though.
Happy crafting. :-)
Well done Sarah! They all look awesome :) And yes- I've had my fair share of crafting overloads before. Let's just say that for PK's first birthday we did a candy party- OMgoodness that was more expensive than I thought. :)
ReplyDeleteThose are SO cute! I know a lot pf ppl have told me they think I'm super thrifty and the DIY queen, but I still end up spending WAY more money on projects that are initially supposed to be cheap but turn into money pits like you said that first wreath was. How else are we supposed to learn what not to do?? ;) Your new place in CO will sure be cute for the holidays!
