Parade of Homes

So, Parade of Homes is FREE out here in Colorado. I was so excited. Some of the ladies decided to hit it up with me a few weeks ago. We were quite the site walking through this block of houses! Everyone commented on the babies. Between all the babies and my BYU shirt, one of the Parade of Homes workers made a well educated guess and asked, "So, what ward are you guys from?" Haha.

In case you didn't know, this is the new "in" thing to do in your house:
An outdoor sitting area in the middle/front of the house. It was pretty sweet, I love that you can have so much privacy. They were all beautiful too, every home we went in had one in some shape or form. My biggest problems would be the maintenance of it (snow, rain) and for the ones that were in the front of the house you would have to install a doorbell because otherwise people would be knocking all day and you would never know it. That part made it a little too isolated for me actually.

This outdoor area below was amazing. It had multiple levels where you could walk out into it. Again, kind of overboard to have this AND an awesome backyard (which this house does...all the backyards were incredible. Probably my favorite parts.) You would have to really love having parties to make these houses worth it I think.

I've learned that I love high ceilings too. After staying with my in-laws and walking through these houses, I really do love it. Tall doors, lots of open space...it's pretty appealing. Someday! I was also pulled to these sweet beams on the ceiling in this one. It helps fill the space and break up the white. I'm sure they're extremely expensive, but it's fun to dream!

I was also a big fan of this stove/kitchen.

I liked the panelling on the walls in here:

While we were downstairs in one of the homes we had a little accident with the puffs. :-)

Our first attempt at the Parade of Homes the day before we actually went landed us at Ikea because it ended up not being open that day. That's okay though, because who doesn't like taking a stroll through Ikea every once and a while?
