Med Wives Run

A few months before moving to Colorado Jayce's classmates were all introducing themselves on their Facebook class group. One guy said that he had a wife and a 3 month old and that his wife was excited to meet other wives and get into the social scene once they moved. Of course Jayce and I pounced and Jayce commented on his post and said that he had a wife and a little boy too and that his wife would love to meet his. So, Steve sent Jayce Maria's email and we emailed back and forth a bit before we even met here in Colorado. And thus my friendship with Maria Long began! :-)

One thing that we emailed about was running. My goal is to do some sort of run after each kid, and I needed a buddy to do it with so that I would stay motivated. We ended up getting a small group of people interested in putting on our own 5k and half marathon. No entrance fees, low key...it was great! We tie-dyed shirts a few nights before the run. Some people couldn't make it last minute, so we only had 3 do the 5k and 4 do the half, but it was so much fun!! It will definitely become an annual event as long as we're here at Rocky Vista.
