Happy Birthday Cameron

 Cameron Lee
 He turned four yesterday!

Oldest children tend to be the guinea pigs moms and dads try their new-found parenting methods on and that can be pretty rough sometimes. They are the ones that chip away at us first, with strong strokes in our refining process, at least in my experience thus far. That firstborn connection is sweet and strong though and I'm lucky to have it with Cameron.

Here was our acrostic for Cameron this year:

The crocodile cake thing. A few weeks ago we started talking to Cameron about how close his birthday was getting and he told me that he wanted a crocodile cake for his birthday. I don't know where that came from, but he was adamant about it and he consistently told us he wanted a crocodile cake for his fourth birthday.

Animal explorer. Lately Cameron has been into Wild Kratts. It's a kids show where two brothers explore different creatures all over the world and it's just amped up his interest in animals.

Make-believe extraordinaire. Cameron's imagination has taken off! I love listening to him play. The other week in church I heard him whispering as he was playing and I looked down to see what he was playing with and he just had both of his index fingers flexed talon-like and they were talking to each other and climbing the leg of the pew. (!)

Exquisitively Cute.
(According to spell check that word doesn't even exist and should be changed to exquisitely, but I'll run with it!)
(He really enjoys putting his shoes on the wrong feet.)

Okay, I know I'm biased, but need I say more on his cuteness?

Reverent when he wants to be, what mother of a four year old can't relate to that?

Octonauts fan, another show that Cameron has enjoyed in the last year. As a result of watching Octonauts he's come to love ocean animals, especially sharks and whales.

He is a nice brother--most of the time. :-) I love hearing him check to make sure his brothers are okay if they have fallen down or something like that. He can be so cute and sweet with them.

The many faces of Cam:

We love have this cute boy in our family and I'm excited for the fun things we have planned for him this year! I can't believe this is his last year until kindergarten. EMOTIONAL BREAKDOWN MOMENT COMING!
