Stone Mountain Park
Our gas company gave us free tickets to Stone Mountain Park and having heard about it from friends and with my Terry blood pumping through my veins I was excited to see a mountain with a massive carving of Robert E. Lee on it.
There were some frustrating moments because I tried to over-plan it, but once I decided to just flow with the day it got better. The kids loved it. My favorite part was being on top of the mountain, but there was a bunch of small stuff to do in the park around it too. It was another really great family day.
The view from the cable car. I've been in a cable car once in my life and that was when I was 5 or 6 years old somewhere in the Swiss Alps. These cars boasted that their cables were made in Switzerland so it was kind of a fun coincidence.
Up on top:
I couldn't decide on a clear favorite from these pictures. There's something about each one that I love! I love seeing their personalities come out so well in photos!
Ben's face for me making them take more pictures, haha!
This is actually the only picture I managed to get of the actual relief. Oops...
We saw these shirts on sale and had to laugh. Only in the south!
Watching a glass blowing presentation. It reminded me of Aunt Teresa's glass pumpkins!
A little story telling time.
Spencer conked out in the 4-D theatre.
We also got to go on a train ride around the mountain while singing Christmas carols. And Cameron spent $3 of his reading lesson money on a rubber black snake that he was super excited about. Him earnestly talking about the purchase with me at the counter and watching him look so grown up and excited during the process was priceless.
