No Longer a Teenager!

Image
The morning started off with my darling husband making me breakfast in bed! He got out of bed extra early (I'm a heavy sleeper...) and made signs to put up all around our living room and to make my favorite- waffles. I know..I look great in the mornings...NOT! Jayce allowed me to open up my presents from his parents while they were on the phone with us, but he put them on before I even had a chance! Duck bathrobe and matching slippers and might I say that they are amazingly comfortable! In fact, I'm wearing my slippers as we speak. Thank you Mom and Dad Porter! So, later Sunday night Jayce took me on a Sunday walk. The first surprise was our destination: He took me to the Pingree's house to visit with them and so that I could play with their new puppy!!! For those of you who don't know, I'm a big fan of dogs and little Luna is so cute! The second surprise was when I came home and found family and friends hanging out in our kitchen! I walked through the door and ther...

California Trip!

Jayce took me to go see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince! We both enjoyed the movie, but as with all Harry Potter movies, I had to bite my tongue in the theater so I wouldn't disturb other viewers with my commentary of, "That's sooo not how it happens in the book.." Jayce just looooves it when I do that.. :-) On our way to San Diego to visit Jayce's oldest sister, Kimber and her family, we stopped in Riverside to visit my grandparents and uncles. It was nice to be able to eat some good food and talk for a while. Shout out thank you to the Nardone's and Jessica for being so patient and tagging along! We all got to go to the San Diego Temple together! It was a first for Jayce and I and we're so glad that we were able to go because it is beautiful . The odds were against us too since Jayce and I overslept and woke up to a fully dressed Lindsey knocking on our door just a few minutes before we were supposed to be out the door! You've never seen two p...

Camping out on Mount Timpanogos!

Image
Jayce and I got to camp out on the top of Mount Timpanogos because he volunteers with T.E.R.T. every summer. (Timpanogos Emergency Response Team) There weren't too many hikers this weekend because it's still pretty snowy up there, so there wasn't too much action for the life savers. Jayce did get to help a couple of people out with blisters though! :-) We started hiking around 6:30 or so..so it started to get dark before we made it to camp Friday night. Saturday morning by camp. It was amazing up there. This is when we hiked up to the base of the summit. The TERTS people set up down by the shelter at the bottom in case people get hurt on the ice pack when they slide down from the top. We spent most of the time talking to people as they came and went and playing Skip-bo. Good times. This is what you must climb up to wrap around and get up to the summit. ALL THAT SNOW. We decided we'd come back another time to climb to the summit. Many people tried and turned around becau...

Life After Wedding

Image
Well, life after our wedding has been fabulous for the Porters. Our home finally looks like a home (although i'm sure it will look even more like it once we get wedding pictures up. :-)) Here is a peek into what's been going on (starting with the latest and greatest and moving back on the timeline): My sister, Rebekah had her baby in the last couple of weeks!! James Terry Stay is our newest nephew and we are so excited for the new family addition. He is my sister's first child and he's DARLING! We spent a couple of days back up at the cabin Memorial Day weekend with friends and family. We lucked into some Salt Lake City Bee's baseball tickets due to Jayce and Josh being such great coaches for the Jr. Jazz bastketball team they coached last winter. Not only did we get to go to the game for free, but because the Bee's won, we got free scones from Sconecutter and free slushies from Sonic. Free=GREAT in our book. Rebekah graduated from Bon Losse Academy just a week ...

Jayce with our nephews :-) bridesmaids! Porter Family Terry Family Jayce's dad wasn't able to come because he is a Mission President in New Zealand. Jayce and I are "bloggers"! Wooo! Today Jayce and I have been married for ONE MONTH. Pretty cool, huh? Since we've been married we have been working on getting settled in our new apartment. It's taken a lot of work, but it feels more and more like a home with every step. We re-painted the entire apartment our first week back from our honeymoon-and let me tell you, we wouldn't touch another can of paint for another ten years even if you paid us. We went to church the day after we started the whole project with yellow splotches of paint all over our hands and arms that we couldn't scrub off. It was worth it though. Before and after pictures of the apartment are soon to come...but we're still waiting for the after to look better. Our new ward is great and we are just loving ...
