California Trip!

Jayce took me to go see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince! We both enjoyed the movie, but as with all Harry Potter movies, I had to bite my tongue in the theater so I wouldn't disturb other viewers with my commentary of, "That's sooo not how it happens in the book.." Jayce just looooves it when I do that.. :-)Align Center

On our way to San Diego to visit Jayce's oldest sister, Kimber and her family, we stopped in Riverside to visit my grandparents and uncles. It was nice to be able to eat some good food and talk for a while. Shout out thank you to the Nardone's and Jessica for being so patient and tagging along!

We all got to go to the San Diego Temple together! It was a first for Jayce and I and we're so glad that we were able to go because it is beautiful. The odds were against us too since Jayce and I overslept and woke up to a fully dressed Lindsey knocking on our door just a few minutes before we were supposed to be out the door! You've never seen two people get ready so fast. I don't know how we pulled it off.

In-N-Out on the beach..can life get any better? I submit that it cannot.
;-)

Kelp. Ew. Jayce, Jessica, and Kimber were brave enough to bare it though! Apparently the Swamp Thing retired to the ocean.

Jayce and Tristan playing the grand piano in the mansion we stayed in.

Tyler had a thing for my shoes. :-)

Tan Porters!

It was so great to be able to visit the Waldner's in California for little baby Shaylee's blessing. Jayce and I came back so impressed with their family and how Kimber and Fabian interact with each other and their children. Blessing day was very special because the Porter's out in New Zealand and the Waldner's over in Switzerland were able to be apart of it through Skype. The blessings of technology! It was very meaningful for everyone and little Shaylee was a sweetheart through the whole thing.
Not only that, but we were also spoiled because that night we were able to go to a stake Pioneer Day production/fireside in which Elder Holland spoke! It was a great experience and very touching. I'll remember that talk for a long time. It was so neat to be able to learn from Elder Holland not just about the recognition that the early pioneers deserve, but also just to learn from his example. How great it would be to have as much love for the people around us as Elder Holland. There was a long line at the end to shake his hand, but we had to book it. It was hard for me to pass up the opportunity to meet Elder Holland, but Jayce promised that before we die, I'll shake a member of the twelve's hand. I will most definitely hold him to that!

Love always,
The Porters!
