Baby Bump

Here's to 33 weeks! I couldn't believe how big I was then and now I'm here:

35 weeks! I looked at myself in the mirror in the bathroom at church and literally busted up laughing. It was good thing nobody else was in there. I just can't believe how funny it looks! I have a basketball growing out of my belly! I can't believe that my due date is in one month too. I think about it all the time without it really sinking in. I'm going to get to the week before my due date (that is if he doesn't come early) and then have a panic attack upon realizing, "Oh my gosh I'm due to have a baby!" The whole ticking time bomb thing hasn't quite sunk in. Maybe after exams are over next week I'll have more time to let it sink in. Here's to having babies!

    A more beautiful pregant lady would be difficult to find! I am so proud to know that that ticking time bomb is my grandson! How fun is that! I can hardly wait! Love to you all!

Spencer's Birth Story

After those last days of trying my hardest to push away the heightening anticipation of Spencer's arrival, he finally arrived two weeks ago today! Now those days seem so far away. It's amazing how quickly the tables turn. Your life seems to be building up to one particular moment for so long and then all of a sudden you're on the other side of that moment and it's like life has never been any different. Mom's Gone

My Mom died in the early hours of June 29 of complications from pneumonia. She was one month shy of her 67 th birthday. I’ll be processing everything from the morning of her death to the day she was buried for a long time. I’m so grateful that I was able to talk to my mom just two days before she passed. I had sat down at my computer after rocking Spencer to sleep and it was quiet time in the Porter house. My mind went blank as soon as I sat down and I relaxed, which is abnormal because I usually feel torn between doing ten things at once when I sit down to “get stuff done” during quiet time. So I thought, “Well, what should I do?
