The Art of Family Photos

I've recently noticed that family photos just seem to get better with time no matter if you already took them or are about to take them. What I mean is the family photos you took 10 years ago have just gotten better because you can get a kick out of looking at the hair styles/clothing choices/faces made/etc. And the current photos you are preparing for will be more fun than previous ones because of the growth of the family, adding new faces, new obstacles, more wardrobes, etc.

We took family photos on the Porter side about a month ago and I just HAVE to share these gems with you so that you can fully appreciate the art of getting 17 individuals to bring their game day faces for picture day. Pay particular attention to the grandchildren and enjoy because they are A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E.

    haha too funny! Love the effect with the music! Very clever! :) I agree with Rebekah- the one of you three is ADORABLE! Can you pleaSE never ever cut Cameron's hair!? i want to see how long it'll stand up for!

Spencer's Birth Story

After those last days of trying my hardest to push away the heightening anticipation of Spencer's arrival, he finally arrived two weeks ago today! Now those days seem so far away. It's amazing how quickly the tables turn. Your life seems to be building up to one particular moment for so long and then all of a sudden you're on the other side of that moment and it's like life has never been any different. Mom's Gone

My Mom died in the early hours of June 29 of complications from pneumonia. She was one month shy of her 67 th birthday. I’ll be processing everything from the morning of her death to the day she was buried for a long time. I’m so grateful that I was able to talk to my mom just two days before she passed. I had sat down at my computer after rocking Spencer to sleep and it was quiet time in the Porter house. My mind went blank as soon as I sat down and I relaxed, which is abnormal because I usually feel torn between doing ten things at once when I sit down to “get stuff done” during quiet time. So I thought, “Well, what should I do?
