Rollerblading Walk

Jayce had President's Day off because he had just finished a course the Friday before, so we had a relaxing weekend. We had gone on a family walk on Valentine's Day and while we were out we saw several rollerbladers. Needless to say, Jayce got the itch. We decided we'd have to bust those suckers out on Monday, and we did!

Cameron loved chasing Jayce up and down the trail, but couldn't decide what he thought about riding with him. This might have had something to do with Jayce falling flat on his bum while holding him.
:-)

Jayce had been cruising for several minutes already when he asked Cameron if he wanted and ride. Jayce picked Cam up, skated about 5 feet forward and ka-boom! (Ohhhhh I so wish I caught it on film!) His skates just went right out from under him and down they went. Although spooked, Cam was totally fine thanks to Dad. In an effort to keep Cameron form hurting himself, Jayce held him close and took all of the impact of the fall right on his bum cheek. A true dad.

Of course this all happens right as an older couple out walking their dog walks by. I'm sure they were eyeing me with the stroller laughing, Jayce with his roller-skates and toddler on the ground and just thinking, "Bless those three little boys..."

We stopped off at one of the bridges on the trail and played a game with Cameron where we threw some leaves/branches off one side of the bridge and ran to the other side to watch them appear.

I love it when Jayce has a weekend off like this. They happen once in a blue moon, but when they come we take full advantage. We don't normally do too much, but what we do we do together and it makes for great memories. I'm lucky for each of the boys in my life.

Oh, what a man. :)

  2. Yeah, I love the Cherry Creek Trail. It's so close and fairly scenic, and I never really get scared on it because there are people all around. We must live super close to your in-laws!
