Jayce's 28th Birthday!

November 4th was a good day. We're all big fans of Daddy around these parts and I get so excited to plan a day around him. Hopefully he had as much fun as I did! The beginning of the day had the normal Porter family birthday traditions and then we didn't see him again until we met him and more family at Red Robin for dinner. Nobody at work knew that it was his birthday, so it started feeling very un-birthday day, but I'm hoping we made up for it at dinner!

In the morning, Cameron gave him a necklace he made for him the day before. I don't know why, but Jayce decided to take it off before going to work.

Hey cute man. :-)

I don't know if they'll ever join us for a birthday dinner again, so I had to capture the moment while I had the chance!

The sole reason I included this photo was because of Cameron! Some people get really cute smiles when they tell their kids to pose for a picture, and I get this.

Our waiter just kept snapping away, I guess because it took a while for everyone to look at the same time, but I just wanted to post them all because look how cute Nana is in every single one!

Jayce requested puppy chow to be his birthday treat, so we all had plenty of that! As a surprise, I tried making a caramel recipe that he had flagged several times in my cookbook and has hinted that he wanted to try out a lot over the last few years. He loves caramels, so I thought this would be the perfect time to surprise him with them! Immediately after I started cutting into them I realized they weren't going to come out like the picture in the cookbook. Here's what they were supposed to look like:

And after wrapping some up for the people at dinner (in big huge chunks instead of cute little bite sized pieces) we came home to find ours waiting for us like this:

Terry cooking strikes again!

We continued the celebration for date night on Friday by going roller skating. It's one of Jayce's favorites AND it was our first date, so it was fun to go again! We went with some of our good friends from school.

And just HAPPENED to go on the exact same night that my second cousins (Right guys? We can never remember exactly what we are to each other) were there on a group date. Crazy, right?!? So fun seeing them!! Spencer, Connor, Allie, and Liz.

What a great man.

And that's a wrap!
